Chapter 59: Face your DOOM! -4

"What's the plan, then?" Johnny asks from behind you as you turn to face them all.

At least you have some strong Firepower now!

You go through the plans in your head.

Plan 1: You've seen the movie, so you know how Doom is defeated. With Johnny now here, you can implement that plan: Have Johnny go supernova on Doom, while you and Susan maintain a big forcefield to contain the fire. Once sufficient temperature is reached, you can use the nearby fire hydrants to rapidly cool Doom down, causing his metal to shrink rapidly and turning him into a metal statue. It's Canon, so it should work, right?

Plan 2: You still haven't given up on your Anti-Power plan, it will work for sure! Have the others attack and distract him and you use your ability. Third time should be the charm, right?

Plan 3: You have stronger melee and ranged fighters now, so just pummel him. You will eventually defeat him, right?

Plan 4: Use the Portal plan, send him away underneath some lake or the nearby river. Even if he somehow survives, at least you won't have to worry about him now, right?

Plan 5: Maybe use the Thing as a hammer to hit him. Ben wouldn't mind, right?

Plan 6: The NYPD are the real heroes, they are just waiting for your signal to come and finish Doom off, back down and let them have the stage!

Plan 7: Use metal construct to make needles and throw them at dooms eyes (blind this bitch)

You swiftly establish a telepathic link with everyone, ensuring seamless communication. With urgency in your voice, you explain the plan to them.

Ben and Johnny appear confused at first, while Reed's expression shifts to one of surprise. It dawns on you that Reed might have already conceived a similar plan, given its resemblance to the one from the movie—you're essentially borrowing his idea.

Johnny attempts to voice a question, but you quickly convey telepathically for him to maintain silence and adhere to the plan, cautioning against alerting Doom.

Susan acknowledges your instructions with a determined nod.

"You—I granted your desires, yet this is how you reciprocate!" Doom's voice resonates with anger as he directs his gaze towards Ben. "You shall be the initial target for elimination," he proclaims, his hand ominously pointed in Ben's direction.

The onslaught of Electrical Bolt hammers into Ben, who, aware of the plan, opts to withstand the assault rather than advancing toward Doom.

"Ughh," Ben grunts, absorbing the electrical barrage with his stone-like resilience.

"Flame on!" Johnny roars, responding to your telepathic urging, he ignites into his fiery form and jets directly toward Doom.

Doctor Doom halts his attack on Ben, observing Johnny's approach. Instead of a direct assault, Johnny begins to orbit Doom rapidly, generating a swirling vortex of fire around him.

The intense heat radiates across the square, even reaching you from your position at a distance. Johnny may not exactly reach the supernova temperatures of the movie version, which was apparently capable of destroying the entire Earth, but he can still go very very hot!

As Johnny accelerates, the flames rise higher, his heat and speed increasing with each passing moment.

You and Susan synchronise your movements seamlessly, as you both start creating a Psionic Forcefield to contain the raging fire within.

With both of you working together, the task is less taxing on your stamina. Positioned strategically near a water hydrant, you utilise your Power of Metal Constructs to transform the hydrant into a Metal Water Jet Sprayer. Currently, its nozzle remains closed, awaiting the right moment to unleash its torrent.

As you stand by, patiently awaiting Johnny to reach the required temperature, you notice something peculiar within the red inferno: white sparks flickering within the flames. In the next instant, these sparks transform into full-fledged electrical arcs, crackling and dancing amidst the firestorm.

Bam!

Reacting swiftly, you retract a section of the shield just in time to witness Johnny hurtling out of the firestorm.

Susan promptly halts the shield and rushes to her brother's side.

As the flames subside rapidly, you notice lingering electrical arcs crackling both on the ground and in the air.

"Are you alright, Johnny?" Susan asks anxiously, helping him up from the ground.

Reed approaches, concern etched on his face. "What happened?"

"T-there was electricity inside the fire suddenly, and then this powerful lightning hit me, blasting me out. Ughh, it was quite painful," Johnny explains, struggling to stand.

You hear their conversation, but your eyes remain fixed on the heart of the fire. As the flames diminish, your focus sharpens, and you see him emerge from the dissipating inferno.

"Is that all you could do?" Doom's voice booms with anger, accompanied by crackling electric sparks coursing down his body and across the ground.

He must have unleashed relentless torrents of electricity, using them to strike Johnny and break himself free from the firestorm prematurely.

Woosh!

Without waiting for his monologue to conclude, you twist the knob and blast the Jet of water at him.

BZZZ

You observe him attempting to channel electricity through the water, but since you weren't in contact with your Metal Jet Sprayer construct, you remain unharmed.

However, you can sense the intense electrical current coursing through it. You're relieved that you took charge of this task, as Reed and Ben might have sustained injuries if they had handled it.

You turn the knob off as the electricity ceases, and you wait with bated breath as the steam dissipates.

"Doom will not go down by the likes of you!"

'Shit,' You curse inwardly, knowing all too well that things rarely go as smoothly as they do in the movies.

You observe Doom, his clothes charred and burnt away, and even parts of his armour showing signs of damage. The metallic shine that once covered his skin is absent, indicating that the intense heat and rapid cooling may have affected his metal composition.

Though you didn't achieve the desired outcome of shrinking the metal as it didn't reach as high a temperature as you wanted, the rapid cooling seemed to have a quenching effect, rendering his metal skin brittle, at least that's your hypothesis.

You go through plans in your head swiftly as you don't know how long will this brittle armour thing would last for.

Plan 1: Attack him with the FF4, he looks weakened you can finish him quickly, right?

Plan 2: Ask Johnny to do the Supernova thing again, it will def work the second time, right?

Plan 3: Tell FF4 to attack and distract him as you try the Anti-Power ability, third time is the charm, right?

Plan 4: Go with the Portal Plan, send him to the nearby sea bed, out of sight out of mind, he will surely die there, right?

Plan 5: You can still use Ben as a Hammer! He should definitely not refuse, right?

Plan 6: Its time for the real super heroes to arrive, NYPD is ready with their preparation, just leave it to them!
