36 36: Start of the battle

—— 3rd Person's P.O.V ——

The Atmosphere around the Border was as heavy as it could get, the Asgardian Einherjar, The Wakandan Warriors, and the Sorcerer from the Kamar Taj were all tense as they waited for their enemy's arrival.
They came here when the sun was at its zenith, and now it has already reached its twilight, but there were no signs of their enemies.
And each passing moment was an eternity for them.
"You sure he's coming, Sorcerer." Carol's voice sounded in the midst of all this tension.
Strange didn't say anything to the blonde woman, instead, he closed his eyes as a green aura surrounded him for a moment.
Strange then pointed his finger at the sky, making Carol alongside others look at the cloudy sky.
Sure enough, the clouds parted and they sees the Sanctuary II up in the sky and a single missile heading towards them followed by many others, that also raced towards the Avenger's army.
*Boom* The missiles collided with an ethereal blue shield before they can reach the Avenger's army.
And after the explosion fades, several giant spaceships followed after the Sanctuary II and came into view from the parted clouds.
The Sanctuary II and the other Giant ships beam Thanos and his Army fully armoured to the ground. Thanos Walked towards the Avenger, in his right hand the Infinity Gauntlet shining with four different colours and a dual-bladed sword on his left. He stopped right before the Blue Shield.
Steve taking the clue also walked towards Thanos but was stopped by Thor.
"Here." Thor threw Gungnir at Steve. "Take it you may not have the strongest shield with you, but the same cannot be said about the strongest spear," Thor spoke again after seeing Steve's confusion.
"But how are you going to fight" Steve questioned Thor, who raised his arm and a beautiful metallic war axe flew into his hand with many runes engraved on it.
Steve looked at the beautiful war axe with a metal handle and said. " That's a nice axe you got there.
"Thanks, her name is the StrormBreaker." Thor caresses the axe with such care that his ex-lovers will die in jealousy.
*Bam* their conversation was interrupted by Tony landing in his Upgraded Thor Buster Armour which he modified to fight Thanos.
"We don't have all day for your square-" Tony started speaking in his usual sarcastic tone but stopped after seeing Thor's axe. " Thor, you're hammer got bigger?" Tony questioned Thor but didn't let him answer as he continued.
"But still we don't have all day, Friday!" Tony cuts Thor and called Friday who replied with an "On it, Sir." And send a drone towards the trio.
The drone launched something towards Steve making him jump back to dodge. Looking down towards his original location, Steve saw his shield halfway buried in the ground.
"Tony…" Steve called
"Save it, me returning back your frisbee doesn't mean we're buddies again," Tony replied without turning back. If Bryan was here he would have definitely called Tony a "Tsun"
Steve seeing Tony still not looking at him, started walking again, towards Thanos.
"Thanos." He addressed the silent Titan after reaching near him.
"I take it, you won't surrender the remaining Infinity-Stones." Thanos calmly asked, making Tony snort at him.
"Look around you big guy, do we look like we came here to bargain over tea." Tony chipped back sarcastically, making the Titan turn his head towards him.
"Stark" Thanos calmly acknowledged Tony, not minding his sarcasm.
"You know me?" Tony questions again, this time his tone having a hint of curiosity in it.
"You are not the only one cursed with knowledge," Thanos said, making Tony frown.
Thor being fed with Seeing Tony and Thanos go back and forth interrupted them.
"You would be a bigger fool if you thought we'd give the Stone to a madman like you," Thor said bringing Thanos's focus back from Tony.
"You're words remind me of people back on my home planet: Titan. They called me a madman too when I said to kill half of the population. And what I predicted came to a pass." Thanos gave a slight explanation behind his mad pursuit.
"Congratulations, you're Prophet." Tony as usual gave a sarcastic response.
"I'm a survivor." Thanos calmly corrected.
"Who wants to murder trillions." Steve completed.
"With all six stones, I could simply snap my fingers, and they would all cease to exist. I call that…Mercy." Thanos said
"And then what?" Steve asked
"I finally rest…And watch the sunrise in a grateful universe. As I have already told the young king of Asgard, the hardest choices require the strongest wills." Thanos replied, making cuss him.
"That's not well, that's fucking madness!" Thor Almost jumped at the Titan, but Steve placed his hand on Thor's chest, stopping him from attacking Thanos.
"Then you have to go through us if you want the Stones," Steve said while holding Thor back.
The founding Avengers walked back, leaving Thanos in his thoughts.
Thanos raised his hand and looked at the Stones specifically the Soul-Stone.
"…so be it…I'm already on a path with no return." Thanos muttered as his other hand caressed the Soul-Stone.
Thanos slowly turned back and took a few steps forward and then rotates his body with insane power, his right hand alongside the Gauntlet having a purple aura coating them.
*BOOOM* Thanos Power imbued hand made contact with the shield, making an even bigger sound than the missiles.
*CRACK* purple cracks formed all over the shield like spider webs.
"AVENGERS!!!" Seeing the crumbling shield Steve Shouted.
Thanos also gestured for his army to move forward.
"Wakanda Forever!" T'Challa crosses his hands over his chest as his Black Panther helmet covers his face, leading the army as they run toward the barrier.
"Asgardian! To the Battle!!!" Thor said as the lightning started crackling all over his body, and with his eyes filled with a raging storm like the sky above, he jumped forward shattering the ground behind.
The other Avengers didn't lag behind and followed with a similar war cry.
The first one to reach Thanos was Carol.
Carol arrives, punching away at Thanos while he defends her with his left hand. Thanos's right hand glowed purple, using the Power Stone he enhanced his physical attributes. He grabs Carol by her hand and flings her away.
Carol quickly balances herself and rushes back at Thanos again, but this time Thanos locks the surrounding space and then punched Carol outside the Earth's atmosphere with a Power punch.
Thanos then raised his double-bladed sword from the ground, and fired a Power beam towards the incoming Thor, making him throw his axe down and split the beam in two.
The axe reached Thanos who deflected it away with his Dual bladed sword.
The axe curved and returned to Thor's hand who brought it down at Thanos alongside many lightning bolts.
"Take this!!!" Thor descended with a war cry and slams his axe down into Thanos's raised blade.
*SHATTER* The ground beneath Thanos's feet instantly shattered like glasses.
The infinity gauntlet shined even purpler as Thanos pushed back Thor with a grunt.
Thanos attacked the stumbling Thor, and fling him back like a rag doll.
*BAM* Tony landed behind Thanos
"Stark" Thanos addressed Tony without turning back.
Tony didn't reply instead sent a huge energy blast from his Nano Repulsers which Thanos responded with his Power beam.
Their attack met, trying to push each other back, but eventually, Power beam prevailed. Tony immediately creates a shield and blocks the Power beam, but it pushes him back.
Tony did a spin and flew at Thanos, he sends one of his Nano-drones to stick with Thanos's Gauntlet to prevent him from using the Stones.
Tony kicked Thanos making him stumble back, then he captured Thanos's leg with another nano-drone. And changed his gloves into a hammer, and slammed it hard on Thanos.
Thanos fell to the ground, as Tony changed the hammer into a sword and slashed at Thanos's neck.
Thanos hurriedly raised his hand and block the attack but he lost two of his finger in the process.
"Ahhhh" Thanos screamed in pain, and with an enraged face, he caught Tony's blade with his bleeding arm, and attacked him with his other hand. His hand sunk into Tony's Armour, tearing it apart. Tony shot back like a cannon bolt, and if he wasn't wearing the improved Thor buster armour, his death would be all but confirmed.
Thanos wasn't able to catch a rest as an angry Hulk landed some distance away from him.
"You insects! Coming one after another like ants," Thanos said in an annoyed voice, as he removed the nano-bots from his gauntlet. His face winced from the pain he was feeling from his injured hand while removing the nano-bots with the same hand.
Hulk ran towards Thanos, intending to smash Thanos till he was only dust, but Thanos was done playing games, he used Soul-Stone making Hulk halt his running and fall on his knees while clutching his chest in pain.
Thanos slowly walked towards the screaming Hulk, with his hand shining orange indicating his use of Soul-Stone.
"You have made me use this accursed stone that coasted me my dearest daughter, for that you will die," Thanos said as he lifted Hulk's head by his hair.
And just as he was going to Kill Hulk, a yellow blast struck his back, forcing him to let go of Hulk's hair and hurled forward, stopping a few dozen meters away.
Steve ran towards the Hulk who was transforming back.
"You okay?" Steve worriedly asked the now transformed Bruce.
"N-no, I feel like, like my souls o-on fire!" Bruce replied, his sentence faltering from the pain he was feeling.
Steve looked towards Thanos with a grave expression.
