Chapter 21 Employement

Prince Arjun's vision had set in motion a series of considerations that would shape the future of the kingdom.

P.O.V. Prince Arjun

With everything completed and the documented orders collected from the royal court, it's time to gather more physical labor from the area. For this, I contacted one of the nobles overseeing that region. Within 30 minutes of my contacting him, he arrived. My first impression of him was zero. He was a fat man in his late 40s with the smell of alcohol emanating from him. As he entered the camp where I was stationed, he hit one of my guards, saying, "You peasant, what are you doing? Bow down to me. No, now bow and lick my shoes, or I will kill your whole family."

Upon seeing this, the guard trembled but didn't bow. The fat man got angry and took a knife from his pocket, ready to attack. Suddenly, a chilly voice emanated from the center of the room, "Sanjay! What do you think you are doing?" Hearing this, Sanjay got even angrier and shouted, "Who dares to shout at me?" He turned his head toward his left, i.e., toward me, the prince.

I sat on a sofa with one leg over another, left hand resting on the handle of the sofa, right hand's elbow on the right side sofa handle, and fingers at my chin, sporting an evil smile. My battalion army members pointed their swords toward Sanjay. My mental Chibi version danced in my head, reminiscent of anime and manga scenes where the protagonist enters with swag and delivers a dialogue that could end the villain's entire career. Seeing me, Sanjay's face was horrified, and he ran toward me, kneeling and saying, "I am sorry, my lord. This was this stupid guard's mistake. He told me that this was not your cabin. I would punish him to the best of my limit so that there would not be any problem in the future."

Shaking my head helplessly, I said, "The guard you are blaming is Akshit, one of the elites of the nation and a member of my personal battalion. Do you think I would believe you? I saw the whole incident with my own eyes." Sanjay trembled, knelt, and bowed, begging for forgiveness. I looked at him coldly, nodded to Rahul, who signaled to his left soldier. The soldiers came forward, picked him up, and took him outside to jail for attacking the prince in a state of inebriation. Sighing, I asked a soldier to announce to all the nearby villagers that men and women above 18 interested in doing physical labor with factory work should come in two days with a salary of 15 bronze coins.

With a nod, he went outside, delegated the task to several soldiers, and they announced the news to everyone in nearby villages. Excitement and discussions spread among the people.

P.O.V Ravi Vihari

Ravi Vihari, a man in his late 30s, a resident of Veer Vijay Kingdom, lived with his daughter Preeti, wife Seema, and his elderly mother Sheela. He worked as a farmer on a zamindar's farm and was currently unemployed due to the change in crop seasons. As he was returning home after searching for new jobs, he heard an army soldier shouting in the middle of the village. As a group of people had gathered, he also went there and listened to the soldier, 'Listen! Listen! Listen! I am here to announce a notice directly from the prince. The prince is opening 6 new factories near this region and requires a large number of physical workers who can handle a heavy load of materials. There is just one condition: the person should be older than 18 years and younger than 50 years; it could be male or female—anyone. The daily salary would be 15 Bronze coins with afternoon food provided by us only. So, if interested, you can go to the Belary village in 2 days.' After this, he repeated the same sentence 2-3 times more. But for unemployed Ram Vihari, this was the news he could get.

As he was thinking this he was called from behind, "oh Preeti ke papa!!(Excuse me Preeti's Father)." Listening to this he turned his head to see his wife standing there. Seeing her there I was confused but thought she would be here due to all the commotion in the village. As the soldier left on his horse to next village I took Seema with me to our home and gathers every one, my daughter Preeti, Mother Sheel and my wife seema and said, "The prince has opened another new factory here newar our village in the Belary village and the work is just physical work with lunch for free and salary is of 15 bronze. I am thinking of joining here and do work."

After saying this he turned his head toward his mother and continued, "Maa I am currently unemployed and the factory set up by prince is going to be good same as those paper factory set up by prince. We have heard so much about the living conditions of the worker has improved very much. So I am thinking of joining here."

Listening this his mother was silent and was thinking something and at the end sighed and said, "you should go. I am in favour of your going. This will help family earn some money and we would be able to collect some money for preeti's weeding."

Listening to this Seema intervened and said, "Is it okay if I also joined as for Preeti she can do all the house chores and currently she is 12. This is her age of marriage and if she did not marry in 1-2 years her marriage age would be finished, she would live her life alone. With both of us working we can collect more money for our daughter and our future."

At the start of Seema's speech Ravi was against it but by the end he agreed to it and said, "What you said is correct and you should also come with me as for maa and Preeti both of you can take care of yourself for some time. What do you think maa."

Listening to this she frowned about her family's female member working but she can't do anything in this regard so in the end she nodded in positive and both Seema and Ravi started packing there materials for the trip to Belary village.

This same situation was happeing in many other houses and villages. Everyone was thinking about money and a proper source of income.

With this huge amount of people started there journey towards Belary Village and huge means this numbers were in 1000's.

But Arjun has thought about 1200 people so everything was under his calculation.

P.O.V. Arjun

In these two days, I set up two huge camps – one for males, another for females, and one for couples. This separation aimed to eliminate problems and enhance efficiency. I also set up a huge kitchen with some local female household wives, giving them the contract to make lunch for around 1000 people. This group of around 14 people received a daily salary of 7 bronze coins. Today, before the arrival of several people, I asked the female chefs to make food for the existing factory workers, including those in the rubber and steel factories, totaling around 80 people. To produce bicycles on a mass scale, more workers were needed, and there were several iron mines in Belary, near a water body, eliminating resource problems.

The food was well-received and enjoyed by everyone. With these arrangements in place, I waited for the fateful morning when everyone would gather. I called half of my personal battalion, about 800 members, to be present and address any issues or solve problems that might arise. With all arrangements made, I went to sleep, taking God's name.
