Ch18 Lost and Found

The manager and the guards lead me down a long hallway behind the locked door. We pass some doors and people are walking around between the rooms, they take me inside a room on the right.

Inside there is a chair and bloodstains on the floor.

"Okay kid I don't know what kind of scam your pulling but we are not people to mess with" the man yells at me.

"I don't know who am I messing with?" I say.

"Kid we don't care how rich you are, or what family you're from here"

After that, a guy with scars on his face and 2 swords strapped to his waist enters the room and says.

"Heard we caught some kid rigging the dice roll. How did you do it kid?"

"Fuck you, you guys don't scare me" I shout trying to piss them off, the scarred dude takes the bait.

"Kid you should be scared, we're part of the ten rings and soon we will shake this country to its core" He said bragging.

"I don't believe you, how would that be possible, loser?" I say mockingly.

"You laugh but as we speak my superior is heading to the palace to kill the Phagmodru family" said the scarred man.

"Wait it's going down now… SHIT" I say as I stand up.

"Yes, but you don't have to worry about that we'll have our fun here" I ignore what he said and spring into action.

I throw out 4 daggers killing the 3 guards and the manager.

"What's happening" he says panicked.

I equip my mask and say.

"It doesn't matter, you're dead" I say as I slit his throat.

I equip my dragon scale suit and then transform into my mist form, and then slip under the doors on my way outside. I rush through the gambling parlor surprising some patrons.

When I get outside I fly in the direction of the palace. The palace is the tallest building in the city so it's not hard to find.

I fly directly through a window at the top of the palace. When I enter I find 2 dead bodies and 5 alive terrified people who are dressed luxuriously.

In the center of the room is who I recognize as Death Dealer, mid-swing with a dagger at one of the people a young girl around 17 years of age.

I quickly reform between the dagger and the girl, I take out my dagger and parry Death Dealer's strike.

"Hmm interesting, who are you?" he asks as he goes to stab me in the chest.

"I'm the Mandarin" I say as I redirect his blow and knock him several feet back with a blast of wind.

"Well mandarin, do not interfere in my work" he states as he throws his dagger at me.

I catch it effortlessly and store it in my inventory.

"Thanks"

I rush in unarmed, I'm going to aim to knock him out then search him for any method of suicide, and then torture the location out of him, until then better not let him know I'm after his boss.

I swing to punch him across his face but he dodged so I ducked down and swept his legs knocking him to the ground.

I go to kick him while he's down but he flips himself back up and rushes at me dagger in hand I turn to mist to dodge and reform behind him.

I grab his right shoulder and wrist with my arms and jump forward with my knee breaking his right arm with little effort.

Death Dealer muffledly screams in pain as he steadies himself and attacks with his one remaining arm bearing a blade.

I grab his last arm and remove the dagger from his grasp and throw him to the ground, I wrap my arm around his neck and put him in a sleeper hold until he passes out.

He goes limp and I get up and dust myself off and begin removing that weird costume he has on. While I'm doing that one of the older people in the room says.

"Ummm excuse me sir have you come to save us?"

I turn around to see most of the people backing away in fear.

"I didn't really come here to save you, but instead to catch and interrogate this guy. Do mind if I do that here?" I say.

"Either way you saved us, it is a shame my mother and father in laws died but the rest of us survived thanks to you" The man said.

"My name is Champo Phagmodru head of the Phagmodru family. We and the country owe you" Champo says.

"Wow, it's no problem and I might ask for your help one day but for now I need a good room to torture this guy, I want to find his boss" I say.

"Of course, I'll arrange that right away" Champo says.

Champo exits the room to go order and likely chew out his guards for not protecting him. The others exit the room but I see the girl that I saved smile at me on the way out.

I go back to striping Death Dealer and searching his mouth. I find 2 suicide pills hidden in his mouth and numerous hidden weapons across his body.

By the time I've finished Champo came back with his guards to direct me to the interrogation room, it's in the dungeon and is a dark dreary cell.

I put a chair in the center and tie him in tightly so he can't move about.

Champo leaves but some of his guards stay.

"Showtime" I say as I slap the shit of him until he awakens.

Death Dealer opens his eyes wide at me and asks.

"What do you want from me?"

"Where can I find Xu Wenwu?" I say.

He instantly moved his mouth erratically.

"I took your pills, no escape unless you tell me what I want to know"

2 hours later

The man formerly known as Death Dealer is broken, bloodied, and flayed. I stuffed medicinal herbs into his wounds to keep him alive but his will is broken now.

"So where is he?" I ask.

"In his compound in the mountains near Kamchou, it's sandwiched between 3 mountains you'll find it" he answered weakly.

I go to the guards and tell them to keep him alive, if he's lying I'll come back for round 2, and if Xu Wenwu dies then so will he.

Kamchou is further north than I have been before so after saying my farewells to the ruler of Tibet I teleported to my northmost city and began flying towards Kamchou.

The mountains near Kamchou 5 days later

I found the point at which 3 mountains intercept and begin flying down from the peaks.

Further down I spot a large series of buildings constructed of wood into Chinese-style houses built between the 3 mountains naturally protected on 3 sides.

To everyone except me that is.

I stay back to observe the compound before rushing in, first I need to construct a plan.
