Ch 16 Goodbye but not forever
I walk through the valley in Ta-lo to the spot where I have constructed my stable, a couple of months ago when I went to work taming the wildlife here I realized that riding a Qilin with a flaming vermillion bird on my shoulder might make regular people freak out.
So here in the dimension of Ta-lo, I could store my pets for when I needed them, then I could just teleport here and back with my cool pets and stuff.
After checking up on my awesome pets a giant fully 9-tailed fox, 5 Vermillion birds, and a majestic Qilin, I decided to go back to the village to say my goodbyes.
I have been in Ta-lo for just over a year now and have gained everything I needed here. I mastered both Way of the Protector and Blacksmithing to insane degrees.

Way of the Protector LVL 54
All my physical stats increased through training and most of my skills advanced somewhat but my biggest gain was the Way of the Protector lvl 54, my control over the wind is immense.
I can now do various long-range attacks combining my mist and wind, also the air aids me in movement making me faster in all aspects. Plus my fighting ability sans the wind is also great, between Kung Fu and the Way of the Protector my bases are covered in close-quarters fights.
I look towards the direction that the village is in and thrust my hand forward, I turn to mist but the wind from my thrust increases my flying speed drastically.
This is a new move I created to travel faster as mist, it only speeds up the mist for 2 minutes so it's not as good for long distances but is great in a battle for getting behind an enemy.
Just as the wind stops giving my mist speed I arrive at the village, I spot Genji and reform next to him.
"So today is the day huh finally leaving, poor Peng's going to be beside himself" Genji speaks to me.
"What about you Genji, not going to miss me" I say.
"You can teleport and your keeping your pets here this will not be our last meeting" Genji responds nonchalantly.
"Fine, I'm going to say bye to Jia, so see ya when I see ya" I say giving Genji a little salute.
Instead of becoming mist I use the wind to do crazy acrobatic jumps and glides around the village. In no time at all after vaulting off a rooftop, I see Jia laying in the grass beneath a tree's shade.
I use the wind to blast me over to her and soften my landing.
"Hey I'm off" I say.
"Farewell Yang, you have become the best fighter I have ever seen, you're sure to do well in the future" Jia said to me.
"I'll be back, till then thank you Master" I say and respectfully bow.
I shoot off as wind-powered mist straight to the center of the lake, as I arrive the Great Protector has come out to see me off. I land on his back and say.
"I'm off to find the Ten Rings, thank you for everything"
It merely looks at me with its eyes, I think it is saying good luck.
"Bye"
I hop off and fly away, I pass by a large stone sculpture of the Great Protector that I made for the village. Since it's goodbye, I suppose I should say bye to them too. I fly to Dai Yu's house and reform in the garden, Dai Yu is there gardening. She sees me and says.
"Oh you're off now, good luck"
"Ya I wish you well in life"
I and Dai Yu dated for 8 months but broke it off since I was going to leave after a year, it was fun while it lasted but all sides were happy at the end except one. I turn to the side and Peng was standing there.
"Marry my daughter" Peng said.
"We've been over this a thousand times Peng we are broken up and I'm leaving today"
"Noooooo please stay, you're the perfect son-in-law and a great blacksmith PLEASE!" Peng says on his knees.
"Thank you for everything Master Peng" I say while bowing I give a small smile to Dai and I fly away, as I leave I here.
"As your master, I order you to stay"
He may have been a pain recently but he gave me the skills necessary to craft many dragon-scale weapons and armor, in my inventory I have swords, staffs, shields, bows, arrows, and various suits.
I created a thin dragon scale under armor to be worn under my tang suit but I also created a full dragon scale battle suit, its dragon scales crafted together in a tang suit like the one my mother gave me only its long-sleeved and all-black with a silver dragon on the right arm and left leg.
I reform inside of the house I have been living in while I stayed here and packed up my stuff in my inventory. I then stood in the middle of my room and charged up my teleport to send myself back to a forest by Ch'eng tu fu a Chinese city near Tibet.
I need to find a trace of the ten rings and work my way to finding the headquarters. I poof into the forest and luckily no one is around I change into some peasant traveling clothes with my dragon scale under armor beneath them.
I walk into a local bar to look for traces of the Ten Rings, I walk up to the bartender and pass him a bag of coins. "I'm looking for the Ten Rings have any info"
The bartender looks at the coins then pockets them and says "I don't know what you're talking about" he says with a grin.
"Then pass back the money" I say.
"Hahahaha get outta here kid" he says pointing at the door.
I could get my money back and make a scene but I leave and quietly jump onto the roof and wait. A few hours later the bartender locks up and starts heading home.
I follow him down an alley from the rooftops, I leap off the roof to right in front of him "Hey old man ready to give me some answers now" I say.
"Oh it's just you kid don't scare me with them red eyes" he shouts at me.
I close my eyelids and then partially transform my eyes into mist and then open my eyelids and say "You are going to tell me what you know of the Ten Rings or else"
"Oh my god what are you?" he says trying to turn and run.
I grip the air and pull him to the ground at my feet, he falls with a thud, and I turn the skin on my face to mist leaving my red muscly face slightly masked by red mist.
"WHERE ARE THE RINGS!" I yell.
He starts crying on his knees head to the floor "They operate from a building in the next town over, but it's not a big operation only a couple of guys please I swear that's all I know"
I left without a trace before he could look up again, if his information is wrong I could always return.
When interacting with the Ten Rings from now on I wonder if I should wear a mask or something there are no photos of me so I doubt people knowing my face could lead back to my family.
I start heading to the location he mentioned, it's time to track the Ten Rings.
