The Mystic Arts

In the Sanctum.

"Who are you Rohith?" Asked the ancient one as she looked at the ten-year-old in front of her.

"I don't remember." was his answer followed by a frown.

"Do you want to remember?" asked the ancient one.

"No," said the boy shaking his head as they settled in comfortable silence.

The ancient one was feeling at peace. For once in her long tenure as the protector of Earth, she was sure that the Earth now had a high degree of protection from any and all possible threats for a LONG time.

As the master of the Time stone, she was no stranger to the madness of time and This meeting had only happened in one of them. The Timeline that ensured the survival of the Planet and the universe as a proxy. She was privy to a few of the secrets of the universe and all of them stressed the survival of the earth and the importance of it on the grand scale of things. Perhaps Earth held a sentimental value to the creators of the Multiverse, Perhaps Earth was a playground for some all-powerful being locked away in a different dimension, perhaps they were all fictional and everything that happened to them including the awareness that they were fictional was something the Authors did for entertainment. She may never know.

Why?

Why is it that every time I try to write a character in their point of view I go off on a philosophical tangent? It happens every time! EVERY HECKING TIME!)

But she knew that this was their reality and their reality was now safe, well as safe as it gets anyway.

"I need your help," Said Rohith breaking the silence.

"I do not see where you would need my help but I am ready to help if I deem it necessary". said the ancient one.

"Teach me the Mystic arts," said Rohith coming directly to the point.

"May I ask why?"

"It has become necessary for me to gather power while I believe it to be unnecessary. Nor do I wish to seek it".

The ancient one was silent as if to encourage Rohith to explain it further. Which he obliged.

"The world has its horrors and heroes. Their stories and tragedies are brought forth by their faiths, choices, beliefs, and a multitude of other factors. I have been made aware of my own story and I wish to avert the tragedies that follow. Hence, it has become imperative for me to seek power and take the center stage in the play called existence".

The ancient one was silent for a few more moments.

"Alright we shall begin training tomorrow and Master Amir shall pick you up. Tell me Rohith is this the way you normally speak?"

"Hell no! and thanks for agreeing to teach me. I act weird when I am nervous. I hope you don't mind." said Rohith letting a breath of relief.

The ancient one smiled.

"So, can you tell me about yourself?"

"As long as you don't try to act mysterious. You sound like those scammers on T.V. I don't like them," said Rohith making a displeased face.

(A/N: I just realized something the Mc in this book is going to be a teen and the Mc in my other marvel book is a kid the one in naruto is an amalgamation of Kurama and My SI but that one is on indefinite hiatus(sorry) because I need to write stuff in a teens perspective as he understands the horrors of the world and I can't figure out how...

Am I having a mid-life crisis?

even tho I am 23?

even tho I am not married?

Huh, food for thought.

plz ignore the rant, I am not deleting it tho. Now where were we?.Right)

The Ancient one snorted.

"Sure, Suprise me"

One explanation about his powers later.

"You know when I said surprise me. I didn't expect you to truly surprise me."

"So any advice?"

"None as of yet but I will think of something, now go home and sleep. Enjoy your birthday and we will talk about tomorrow" Said the ancient one opening a portal to his bedroom.

"Thanks see you tomorrow, granny," said Rohith as he yawned and went through the portal crashing on his bed not realizing he had just called one of the most powerful women to ever live 'granny'.

The ancient one just smiled and shook her head because for some reason she found it endearing.

Pov shift

Well, that went well. I guess I shouldn't have worried too much...

You know now, that I think about it. If someone absurdly strong appears then shit equally absurd also appears...

Shit.

I need a team and the Avengers are overrated and so are the x-men and the brotherhood.

I will need a team that doesn't give a shit about powers, race, rules, or anything else I need a team that is separate from Humanity as a whole and completely dedicated to the protection of it.

Now you might be thinking 'Why are you going to the superhero route isn't it like overrated?' and I completely agree with you superheroes or heroes, in general, are overrated and have way too many restrictions placed on them. Just take a look at MHA and you will understand what I am trying to say is I want a team that is ready and able to fight off anything that threatens our home. From anyone be it extraterrestrial or terrestrial.

I want to be able to say 'You don't like what I am doing? Fine, do it yourself and if you can't, shut up and stop annoying me!' The same goes for my team.

As for protecting Humans? Well, I am Human and this is my home.

well then see you guys in 6 months or the next paragraph.

6 months later.

The Sanctum.

"This feels unnatural," Said Rohith as he formed a basic spell formation using Eldrich magic.

"And uncomfortable" added Rohith as the formation faded.

"Uncomfortable how?" asked the ancient one.

"Like my body/mind are annoyed by its presence. Like the small harmless insects that infest any house that isn't newly built. It's annoying, not harmful or useful just annoying."

"Is it not the same for your barriers?"

"Not at all," said Rohith as he easily formed a Signal grey wall in front of him.

"If anything it feels comfortable like stretching my legs after sitting at pooja for a long time"

"Hmm...You said anyone can learn it as long as they don't have powers yes?" asked the ancient one.

"Yep. I don't know if transdimensional energy counts as powers tho, considering you told me anyone can use it," said Rohith forming a sphere using cubes and cuboids.

"Why don't you try?" asked Rohith before proceeding to teach her the method to form the basic barrier.

After a few tries.

"This is not much different than normal magic" commented the ancient one.

"Then maybe it's comfortable because it was granted to me?" asked Rohith.

"Hmm... Maybe. Do you know the differences between your 'Kekkai' and eldrich barriers?" asked the ancient one.

"My 'Kekkai' originates from my 'Spirit' or soul, while eldritch magic comes from the energy borrowed either from different dimensions or this dimension and that's about it other than the obvious differences like runes and colors and other properties"

"Hmm... I think you should focus more on your power while reading up on spells and rituals here" Said the ancient one after some time.

"Why?"

"You simply won't have the time to learn and improve on the mystic arts. So focus on your powers and the powers that you gain, on the mystical side of things learn about the dimension lords and how to spot and counter them as well as learn about as many spells as you can." Advised the ancient one.

"Sure, But I want to learn the portal spell and the mirror dimension one those two seem very useful"

"Sure" chuckled the ancient one.

And just like that Rohith spent the next 4 and a half years under the tutelage of the ancient one and the many masters mastering his powers.
