Chapter 37: Walls Have Ears

The car stopped abruptly. I flinched a little and looked in front of me. We were in front of the apartment.

I felt the urge to talk when he didn’t make a move to get out of the car.

‘’Let’s go upstairs, Aiden,’’ I said as I held his hand.

‘’You go, my love,’’ he said with a straight face. His tone wasn’t that soft anymore.

‘’Come with me,’’ I whispered. I was afraid that he was about to do something awful.

‘’I have to go,’’ he looked straight.

I didn’t want to push further.

‘’When will I see you?’’ I asked with fear.

‘’I’ll call you,’’ he said and kissed my forehead. I closed my eyes as his soft lips touched my skin.

‘’Be quick,’’ I said and got out. He immediately started the car and took off. I watched him until I couldn’t see the vehicle. And that wasn’t long.

After a minute, I put the keys in the lock but Di opened the door with a surprised face.

‘’Why did Aiden leave like that?’’

I entered the apartment and put my purse down.
