Crisis Resolved

There was hooting and confused panic in the crowd when suddenly the hands of the blond guy began to glow in the red light. Leaving Magic users aside who knew what was happening, commoners were confused, scared, and excited.

Some thought it was some kind of new tech, some said he was trying to be cool by strapping led lights on his wrist, etc. If any one of them got a single clue that what that red light could accomplish, then they would have probably run away from that place.

It was devouring, the ability of Conjurer Fred. He can use his skill to devour anything he touches or is in close range to him. He finally lost his restraints as he felt no obvious indication from Orion that he was going to use magic.

He dashed at him to rip off his arms with his touch, probably some blood and gore will teach him the danger he is in. He closed his fingers in a tight fist and threw it at his arm.

'It was too late ' was the first thought of both Ai and Professor Ren who reached at almost the same time and watched Fred as he jumped at wobbly Orion.

Ren channeled her mana to power off a telekinetic spell to separate and hurl Fred aside from Orion. Similarly, Ai pointed her hand at Fred to blast him off with her lightning. The dragons swelled from her hand and charged at Fred.

"It was late"

They both tried but knew they were already late because their attacks would reach Fred after he would be done with Orion. The only thing they could hope was, Orion could dodge him anything by skill or luck.

The danger was ticking in his mind as he saw Fred coming towards him with his glowing hands. He didn't know what those lights could do, but anything they would not be gold for him that he knew.

As he punched towards his shoulder, Orion bent his leg to dodge his punch but at that exact moment, his legs stumbled, which let him fall and dodge to the ground, even more, faster than he thought.

He began to fall to the ground, thus managed to dodge his punch by a close margin which was aimed at his shoulder. His fist went just above his shoulder in the air, but as Fred was not rooky how could he make that mistake.

He knew his skill, it works with touch as well as in close range. Therefore he doesn't actually require to touch him to devour his flesh and bones. He needs to just be close enough like this.

He activated his ability to devour, he expected the screams any time now with a violent spray of blood and explosion with pieces of flesh and bones. He wanted to punish this man who was still overestimating and not using magic against him.

Fred was a conjurer but also a junior of his brother who runs a small business in Kyoto. His Brother was a prominent member of the local brotherhood before he graduated from here.

So like his brother, he too wanted to raise a prominent business but when he entered into the magic circle he discovered that he could be something more, something larger than his brother ever could be.

Therefore, his aim shifted to enter the league with some large magic fraternity which could give him the power and position he deserves.

But when he discovered all the rumors and hot topics about Orion and his father. He got excited it was his chance if he could take him down then maybe all higher people will realize his worth and take him with them.

From his three years of entry into the magic community, one thing he had learned is everything is based on strength. If you have the strength you could do everything whether right or wrong.

But this, Orion, tried to insult him to the end. He refused to use magic to fight with him. If he doesn't use magic how will he prove his worth, he was destroying his opportunity, his plan to rise in the hidden world. Therefore,

' If you refuse to fight with magic with me, then prepare to face consequences'.

He smiled in insanity as he wondered how many people will be going to know about him after tonight. Maybe he will face some consequence from MoJ but who cares.

There are plenty of other organizations who will willingly protect him, moreover, this man is a son of a terrorist. He is doing the right thing even if he dies, public support would be with him.

But the outcome he expected didn't happen. His red light was pulsating with energy to devour the surrounding things like his shoulder, but nothing happened. Like literally nothing he stepped away from him and Orion fell to the ground managing to dodge the punch.

He wanted to think about what happened but the dragons which appeared suddenly in front of him had other ideas. He hurriedly raised his hands to shield them, but unfortunately, they were just apparitions.

They passed right through his hands and gave the violent lightning strike to him, hurling him to another side.

While on another side, blue light orbs originated in thin air which interfered with the spell of Ren, rendering them ineffective.

Ren immediately turned her head towards the crowd from where that thing was originated but due to many students, she couldn't see who he was who canceled her spell. He couldn't be a simple man if he could do so without any detection.

She wanted to pursue it, but the most pressing matter was to manage this incident right now. She moved ahead and clapped her hand immobilizing everyone in their place.

In other words, she just made an interim facet world here and sent the magic users like Fred, Ai, and Orion inside it because none provided any resistance they disappeared from public view.

She to the unaware commoners made a light forgetting spell which made them forget details of this incident. It was a simple spell actually, it does not make them forget all of it as it will lead to suspicion with so many people losing the whole chunk of memories together.

It was like a damage control spell that alters their memories only slightly, removing the unrealistic facts which their brain does not accept like magic, disappearance, etc.

Now they will only remember the realistic fight that was fought and nothing else. And about videos she didn't care about that, no one will believe anything in this age of CGI already.

She walked in front of a stunned audience who were looking here and there for Orion and Fred.

"What are you doing here still together? We have taken both of them for investigation, Go home. The show is finished."

She waved the crowd, as it slowly disintegrated and walked to their places all while discussing the violent beating given to new student Orion.

While the magic users in the crowd had already started scattering off when they realized Professor Ren coming. They know the show is over but implications will be discussed in various places tonight.

She, after discovering everyone is out, entered into the interim facet world.

Orion fell down to the ground averting his blow and felt himself lucky for avoiding that strike. He opened his eyes to see him struck by two dragons and being flung to the distance. He relaxed,

"Finally someone was here." As he felt himself being shifted to Facet world.

He hosted himself in a sitting position to see, it was Ai. She was jogging to him and her disheveled state was obvious signs she came as fast as she could.

Her hair was wet and wild while she was wearing a t-shirt and jean shorts and walking barefoot.

She reached and helped him sit down properly.

"You alright?"

"Yeah", ….he managed to wheeze out.

She released her held breath and said,

"Idiot, I thought you were gone. But at least you slipped at the right moment.

Seriously, I came running from my shower after my roommate informed me that there was some drama going on here with the crowd.

Oh my god! Mr.Tachibana will chew me out."

Orion chuckled at her distraught voice and turned towards the place where Fred was lying down.

"Is he alright?"

"Yeah, don't worry. He is just knocked out.

God knows which idiot provoked him to do this. He will be sacrificed for someone else's curiosity. "

Orion turned to her "Curiosity?"

"Yeah, do you seriously believe he did this by himself? Someone obviously directed and instigated him. "
