The first thing she noticed when she woke up, was the flaring pain in her abdomen... The second was the hug.

Ren hugged her just tight enough for her to not feel any more pain. There was some silence in the air before he spoke out.

"I'm so glad your... okay..." He let out a few small sniffles, before he chuckled lowly. "I'll go get the doctor." He got up from his chair, and headed towards the door.

She wanted to reach out to him, but she could barely move her body. Soon the door shut, and she was all alone.

Her eyes could barely keep up with all the screens, as she gave out a confused groan. What is all this? Why is this happening? Many more questions that needed to be answered appeared in her mind, but the door was busted open, and a doctor emerged from it, Ren trailing behind.

"Greetings, Ruby Rose... It's wonderful to see you well.... It's a miracle that your alive." He spoke in a light and calm tone, afraid she would be overwhelmed.

She nodded blankly, as she gazed at the bandages on her stomach.

"We'll give you a day to get your bearings straight, then we'll start running some diagnosis... We'll also inform your family. They are very worried about you." She gave another nod, as the doctor gave a gentle smile. "Good. have a wonderful day, Ms. Rose."

He walked past Ren and closed the door. An awkward silence appeared between the two. Ruby didn't know what to say, and Ren was feeling to much guilt.

Given the chance, Ruby silently 'observed' Ren. It seemed that the year has been rough on him. His white hair that was never past his neck, has now started growing and reached his back. His eyes looked dull, yet they seemed to have regained some light in them.

But most importantly.... She could feel a strange aura emanating off of him... it scared her.

...Why was he apologizing? He was the one who told her to run, yet she came back like a fool. She didn't listen cause her thoughts got the best of her.... It's all her fault.

"If I did as you said.... none of this wouldn't have happened.... So thank you." She gave him a brightest smile she could muster, one filled with pure kindness.

Ren let out a small cough, his cheek had a small red hue. "V-very well! I shall forgive you. But for now, rest up... I'll see you tomorrow." With that he exited the room.

'I can't take it!' With newfound strength, she grabbed the plate of cookies and started scarfing them down. She couldn't help it! The smell as to alluring!

She could barely keep herself from drooling throughout the conversation.... Ren's cooking was truly the best. No, wait! Mom was the best.... But Ren's were so fluffy and soft... But sow were mom's!

Before she knew it, all the cookies were gone, as she let out a groan of satisfaction and disappointment.

Speeding through Patch, Ruby finally made it to Downtown Patch. She took the key out her inventory and waited for something to happen.
