“What?” Saeraboth Drund exclaimed as he lifted his sword away from Alyssa and took a few steps back in shock as he saw that rather than her decapitated body she was instead kneeling before him with her body translucent. The soldiers quickly backed away in fear as she stood to her feet and then gazed at her father no longer fearful or tears in her eyes, but with an absolute look of determination. Her body then became solid looking once more, but there was something different in the way that she stood; stronger, more powerful and an air of confidence that had not been there before.
“What’s the matter, father? Afraid that your great powers have no effect on me?” Alyssa asked as she summoned two swords of blinding white light and steel.
