54 Chapter 54

"Is it just me or is your school football player being strange?"

Inside the Talon, Leonardo was eating a cookie while Aurora was behind the counter waiting for the next order. Turning around, he could see why she thought so, since they were all awaiting their girlfriend's orders like some servant or puppy. Which just seemed strange since two of the players weren't into girls.

"Just another week in Smallville." Leonardo replied. "I guess I will look into it later if Clark isn't already."

"Why you?" Aurora asked.

"Mainly because it is interesting." Leonardo replied. "How did the girls get the guys to drop everything and follow them around like drones? Well without busting out their ultimate weapons that would make the world better if there were more."

"Yeah, some of the cheerleaders really don't have tits or butts." Aurora nodded.

"Watch your language, you two, especially Aurora. You are still on the clock." Martha appeared next to them.

"Fine, fine." Leonardo answered. "So which movie will we watch later, Aurora?"

"I was thinking either Friday the Thirteenth or Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I'm in a horror movie mood." Aurora replied.

"Alright, I'll see you later." Leonardo left the coffee shop.

While wiping down the counter a few minutes later, a blonde cheerleader approached the counter. Her hair reached down to the base of her neck and was fairly pretty, while she held a bottle with green liquid in front of her chest. Smiling, she grabbed Aurora's attention almost like a door to door salesman.

"I couldn't help but notice that your boyfriend left you here again." She began her sales pitch.

"Well, I am working here and he is not. So why would he loiter around?" Aurora replied.

"True, but what about when you're not working? Does he always go about his own thing or do you feel like you're always the second thing on his mind to him." Mandy continued.

"Well, you need to work on your sales pitch, but I give you twenty for it anyways." Aurora said. "Whatever you are selling."

"It's a love potion and one sip and he will be devoted to you for hours doing everything you ask of him." Mandy smiled as she handed over the bottle and took the cash.

Aurora resisted the urge to roll her eyes and tucked the bottle into one of her pockets. Since Leonardo was going to investigate it later, well he could repay her with his body for buying this useless thing. A nice massage sounded nice.

"Well what do you guys think?"

Later that night after getting home, Clark was showing off his football jacket. The jacket held a crow with the school color of red sleeves and yellow for the rest. Which matched with his blue shirt and made Leonardo scratch his head a bit.

"Doesn't really suit you." Jonathan began.

"The color scheme doesn't really match you." Martha added.

"If your jacket was mainly blue with a yellow emblem and red trim it would be better." Aurora answered.

"I agree with her," Leonardo nodded to Aurora words.

"Chloe and I did tell you." Lois laughed at his miserable expression.

Clark just lowered his head in defeat since it seems like he wasn't going to win this battle. Which made him wonder about his fashion sense. He thought it suited him quite well.

"So do you have any idea what's going on with the guy who tried to take out Jason?" Lois swapped topics once a silence took hold for a moment.

"If I didn't know he was dating Mandy, I would say he did it out of jealousy for Lana." Aurora said as the microwaved beeped.

"Oh, so I am not the only one that picked up on that." Lois said. "They do spend quite a bit at the Talon together."

"Still think we should get the school to investigate. It shouldn't be too late and won't hurt the school credibility too much if it is found now." Leonardo mumbled. "Yet, the boy scout here says we shouldn't."

"I said we need more evidence since it's no secret you dislike Lana." Clark clarified.

"How much evidence do you need? Pictures of her bouncing on his pole? A positive test? Maybe a ring?" Leonardo shot back.

"Leonardo, language." Martha chided him. "However, Clark, it is not wrong to warn the school. They will investigate and if it is true they will handle it."

"Come on, Leo. We got a horror movie to watch." Aurora said.

After the two left the room, a silence took hold again which made Lois very uncomfortable.

"He really doesn't like Lana does he." She said, "What did she do to earn such a reaction?"

"Let's say she was quite the diva for a while." Martha said.

The next day, while sitting on the stands, Leonardo was studying the water bottle that Aurora had given him. Well attempting since after looking at it and after a few minutes he needed to place it away from himself. He had discovered the issue of it as it was basically a bunch of ingredients mixed together with kryptonite that made the brain trigger the phenylethylamine hormone.

Yet, while he figured it out he didn't know how to solve it. For the drink basically overloads the brain hence why most of the football players are drones to the girls. They are truly unable to think about anything else. Not to mention if they are dosed for a long time, it most likely will land them in Belle Reeves or six feet under.

As for curing them of it, well besides allowing the drink to run its course, he basically needs to overload the brain with something else. Which could be the pain such as being burned, depression and so on.

Hence tossing the drink away from him due to the kryptonite starting to affect him. Because the amount was so low it took a minute or two for him to notice unless he drank it. He didn't plan on it since he really didn't want to feel ill.

'Well, now how should I go about solving the problem? It's not like I could lock up the cheerleader and if I destroy the drink. The cheerleaders will just make more.' Leonardo thought for a moment. 'The show really didn't say how they dealt with it, besides just making all the football players come from their love high and called it a day.'

Which just made him sigh, before he watched Clark tackled to the ground in pain. Since he knew Clark drank from the cooler ten minutes ago before he arrived to watch. Hence, Clark not only has the football players out for him, but a light dose of kryptonite in his body.

Pulling out his phone since he knew Aurora was at the farm working on a business plan of some kind. She mentioned she thought about setting up a studio of some kind, but he didn't know what kind of studio. Since Aurora basically all over the place from writing music to screenplays. Though she tends to ask him to help her in the latter.

"Hello, you have reached your half angel service." Aurora said happily.

"Have I now? Well does this half angel come with a bikini?"

"I won't say no, but it's kind of cold to go swimming lately." Aurora answered. "So what's up."

"Can you prepare some ice packs for Clark? He is having a rough practice." Leonardo said as four guys tackled Clark to the ground.

"Alright, I can do it." Aurora answered. "So did you figure out what was in the bottle?"
