8 Nervous

It was only a small competition of strength but now she was trying so hard to beat him that he felt under pressure. From that day forth he pushed himself really hard to try and keep ahead of her. But by the 4th week she overtook him and beat him.

She was so happy once she beat him that she was jumping around in joy for a few minutes. This had made him work even harder over the years to try and beat her again. He hadn't beaten her again but by that point it was more just fun to fight each other to see who the winner would be.

Because of this he was actually himself advancing at a good rate in the realm, so it was good for the both of them. Of course after every fight he would also give her complements about how much she had improved and such, it was just the usual by now.

And because of how fast she was advancing he really was heartfelt in his praise, he knew she would do big thing later in her life. So not to be left behind in the dust he tried harder.

They still also studied reading and writing together and he always kept ahead of her in that department, though her hand writing was better. It was a lot more elegant, but Wei Jin didn't care about that and felt happy that he was winning in something.

Feng Rou would even have a displeased expression when she fell behind slightly and he had to help her. The expression was so cute he couldn't help but to laugh every time he saw it, which would make her angry and give an even better expression.

He would also sometimes slip up and use his father's favorite pose and get laughed at for a few minutes; he couldn't help himself to do it when he was proud of himself.

Getting on to the talisman he talked to Feng Rou for a while about what had happened during the day and how his progress was doing well. He would also touch on some of the things he hated and ask her about how she was doing.

This was the last thing that he always did with her; he would make sure he did this every night before he would go to bed as it had become a habit. It was just fun for him to talk to someone else, especially his best friend. The others in his clan were nice to him and fun but Feng Rou and him had so much history together, and bounced off each other with their thoughts.

Finally just as it was about to reach the time that they usually stopped talking to each other a message came through the talisman.

"You ready for tomorrow?"

His heart beat quickened as he thought about what was going to happen tomorrow. Throughout the years they had become a lot closer and talked all the time, but they had never gone to each other's place or said hello to the others parents.

It was completely out of the blue a few weeks ago that Feng Rou would actually suggest for him to go over to her clan, have some fun and meet her parents. As she wasn't very forth coming about her clans' background and he didn't want to pry into it, he always wondered whose clan she belonged to.

With the last name of Feng there were actually 3 clans in the city that had that last name, with the most well-known being the major clan that was one of the behemoths of the city. That Feng clan was on par with the imperial clan that ruled the continent and was not a clan that anyone could mess with.

Some said the clan was actually on par with the imperial clan but didn't want to fight the imperial clan because of the casualties that would entail.

Feng Rou was definitely not from that clan though Wei Jin thought to himself. He knew she was well off and had a powerful clan behind her, but there was no way it would be them. They wouldn't let any daughter of their clan mix with someone from a lower clan.

So instead he was sure she came from the middle Feng clan that was more powerful than the Wei clan but not on the level of a major clan. With her clan being able to produce the talisman he needed to contact her, he figured that would be his best bet.

There was also the last Feng clan that was a lower clan like theirs but he didn't think they would give one of the talismans to the younger generation; it would have been too much a waste. Add the fact that she didn't talk about her clan very much, he was sure it was the middle clan.

Not that it made him feel any better, one of the middle clans would be able to take out their Wei clan if they wanted to. Unless the patriarch had a cultivation base breakthrough, they wouldn't stand a chance. But they would be able to scatter and hide if one of them ever came after them.

To go over to a middle clan was a big prospect for Wei Jin as he had never been to one before, also the thought of meeting Feng Rou parents also set his nerves on edge. If they didn't approve of him as her friend and the fact he was from a lower clan, he wouldn't be able to see her again.

He settled his nerves and reassured himself, Feng Rou was a nice person, so her parents must also have the same demeanor. He would be completely fine. He quickly wrote down a message and sent it. He would get an early sleep tonight and get his best cloths for tomorrow.

There was nothing to fear he told himself.

Feng Rou also sat in her room with a talisman before her. She was waiting for a reply from Wei Jin and was also slightly nervous about it. She looked different from when she was 3 years old and now that she was 5 and the fact she was a prodigy when it came to cultivation she looked around 8 years old.

Her face was perfectly round with big eyes and soft skin, and her body was slim and tall. Her hair stopped just slightly below her shoulders and she was looking very similar to her mother. Her hands didn't betray any callouses from the training that she did and were as smooth as jade as she held the talisman in her hands.

A smile touched her lips as she saw Wei Jin finally reply and couldn't help but laugh as she imagined how nervous he would be. She was also nervous as this would be the first time she brought him back to her clan. Her parents knew he was coming and had agreed that it was fine. Hopefully he wouldn't get too freaked out when he came to the clan.

She may have been young but she knew that the clan she came from would intimidate other people from the lower clans. Wei Jin talked about his clan all the time and she knew that her clan easily eclipsed his. Because he always talked about his clan, from the moment she could tell this fact she wasn't sure if she should tell him this fact. It was very possible that it would affect their friend ship or even destroy it.

She didn't want to see that happen but she had felt guilt in her heart about the matter and wanted him to come over and see for himself. He was always so helpful with reading and writing and fun to play with she was sure that their friendship wouldn't change.

But there was that slight doubt.

She nervously lay down and couldn't wait for the next day to start as the talisman was placed next to her.

"Yes I'm ready! I can't wait for tomorrow!"

She hoped it would be a great day. No more lies between them.
