9 House Visit

TELL ME!

***********************

Wei Jin nervously looked in the mirror in front of him as he looked at his attire. His mother had picked his best cloths for his visit today.

Having told his parents about his assumption that Feng Rou was from the middle tier Fang clan, they were both shocked when they heard the news. Of course they were happy that their son had a good friend throughout the years, but adding in that she might be from a mid-tier clan changed some things.

They didn't tell Wei Jin to treat Feng Rou any different from before as no problems had come up before, but they did caution him not to do anything too dangerous when they were adventuring. They knew if something happened to a mid-clan's daughter and it was linked back to them, the clan would also be implicated.

Even if she wasn't a daughter of one of their elders, being a daughter of a clan member would create enmity between the 2. And if a middle clan, like the Feng clan wanted to force them out of the city or destroy them they would be able to.

The likely hood of that happening where minimal, but still influenced how they looked at Wei Jin's young friend. Having been told that she had invited him over to her clan, they had scrambled to get him a nice pair of cloths to go over.

In the weeks since they had found out the news they had been teaching Wei Jin some simple and easy to understand etiquette rules when eating and behaving at another clan. They didn't want to disrespect the other clan.

They had also repeatedly told Wei Jin to tell them all the details of what happened when he gets back, if they noticed anything that could have been counted as disrespectful they would have to go and make amends with the other clan.

Not that they wouldn't have done this if Wei Jin was going to the minor Feng clan like themselves, but because it was a mid-clan they put more importance on the subject.

"Jin you ready?"

His mother's voice sounded out from the door as she stepped in a looked at his figure. Turning around he looked slightly nervous but nodded his head.

His mother patted him head before he made his way out and started to run towards the pond. Because he had started cultivating his speed was fast and he made it down there quickly. He still stopped at the merchant he always got 2 ice lollies.

It didn't matter what they were going to do or the weather he always stopped by to get 2 of them. They would eat them before doing training or going on an adventure. Picking them up, he made his way over to the pond and saw Feng Rou sitting at their usual spot.

She was wearing a nice dress today as usual and had her toes dipped in the pond. Going over to her he bent down and handed the lolly over. She flashed him a smile and immediately started eating it. They didn't have to say anything as both of them ate the lollies in full before they got up.

Following behind Feng Rou, Wei Jin was feeling a lot calmer as they made their way through the town. He knew she was most likely from the Middle Feng Clan so what did he have to worry about. He was also thinking about what her clan looked like.

Feng Rou didn't usually talk about her clan and what it was like, it was mainly about her cultivation and her parents so he was interested in seeing what it was like.

Twisting around a few buildings Feng Rou steps started to slow and Wei Jin could tell that they were getting close. Wei Jin had never been into this area of town before he had never seen a lot of the buildings he had passed or street names.

Where the hell are we?

He was caught up in his thinking so much that he accidentally bumped into Feng Rou who had stopped in front of him, being surprised for a second he said sorry quickly and then looked at what was in front of him. They must have arrived.

"Ah…."

That was all that could come out of his mouth as he stared at the humongous gate that was in front of him. It was twice the size of his own clans gate and almost seemed to glitter in the sun. It was made out a material that Wei Jin had never seen before and the sight of it in its grandeur left Wei Jin stunned.

His eyes almost popped out of their sockets as he looked on. Staring at it for a good minute he finally dragged his eyes away from it and looked at Feng Rou who was standing in front of him with an anxious look.

Seeing her face and realizing what his face must look like, he coughed lightly before straightening his face. And hiding his hands in his sleeves, they were shaking slightly as he realized how rich Feng Rou clan must be.

The middle clan's really were completely different from the lower clans. He couldn't help but think that as Feng Rou finally talked to him. She seemed a lot calmer after seeing his face return to normal.

"Welcome to the Feng Clan."

He followed her as he stepped into the clan and said quietly.

"Thanks for having me."

The gate keeper that usually stood there gave Wei Jin a smile as a huge aura locked onto him. The aura that he felt was on par with one or two of the elders in his clan. It only happened for a second but it cased Wei Jin to stop, even the guards were so powerful.

He gave the guard a stiff nod and continued on behind Feng Rou. Walking into the clan the buildings that populated the area where majestic in appearance and flaunted how well off and prestigious the Feng clan really was. Wei Jin couldn't help to look around himself with wide eyes as he saw building designs that he had never seen before.

They continued to walk on in a certain direction and Wei Jin also marveled at how expansive Feng Rou's clan really was, they had been walking for a few minutes and still hadn't reached their destination. Every now and then Feng Rou would even stop and gestured towards some of the buildings and introduce them to Wei Jin.

Most of the buildings he had heard of before as his own clan had buildings specified for training and cultivation, but the other ones he had never heard of before.

For example there was a huge theater like building to the west from the entrance with many seats and a podium in the middle. Feng Rou had introduced it as the Dao lecture platform, he had no clue what a Dao lecture was, but from the twinkle in Feng Rou eyes it must have been important.

Actually the more buildings that he didn't know of and the bigger the clan seemed, the less Wei Jin wanted to talk, by the time they finally reached their destination he was at one word replies like ohh and ahh.

Feng Rou didn't seem to notice this and was instead excitedly introducing everything, until they made it to a certain courtyard. Feng Rou finally slowed down and introduced the building in front of him.

"And this is my house."

Wei Jin felt his mouth opening wide again but shut it quickly and gave it a complement instead, his parents had said it was good idea to do that.

"The building looks beautiful, something fit for you."

Feng Rou smiled happily at the comment and didn't notice Wei Jin slight start, she walked the path way going up to the door. Wei Jin followed behind and marveled at the perfect garden and small pond out front, and the beautiful design that the house had.

Feng Rou opened the door slowly and beckoned for Wei Jin to come in. He only hesitated for a second before stepping in. He could only lament on the inside.

There is so much she left out when she talked about her house and parents!

Stepping inside the design was elegant but not too different from what he was used to, it gave Wei Jin some slight relief as he followed Feng Rou. She went to a door connecting in front where they were and as she opened it a big room was produced in front of him.

In the middle of the room was a table with mats placed both sides of it and 2 people already kneeling down next to it. There was a pot of tea sitting on the table and 4 cups on the table. From the steam that was coming from the pot Wei Jin could tell that it looked like it had just been made.

He curiously looked at the couple that were sitting down and turned stiff at the entrance to the room. A aura like none he had felt before seemed to lock down on to him as he stared in the direction of the man.

He had low cut black hair that was tied into a bun at the back and looked to be in his late 20's. His piercing gaze was locked on Wei Jin once the door was opened and the gaze alone completely overwhelmed Wei Jin as he stood there.

He even started to shake slightly as the gaze continued to bore into him and uncover any secrets that his mind might have.

Next to the man the woman who looked like an older version of Feng Rou herself who had porcelain like skin and a quiet demeanor nudged the man and shot him a look. The man's eyes shifted and the pressure that had been weighing down on Wei Jin disappeared as if it had not been there in the first place.

Wei Jin calmed himself and quickly moved into the room before bowing towards Feng Rou parents. Feng Rou who had been walking in front of him did not notice what had happened and was sitting opposite her parents and smiled when Wei Jin bowed.

"Hello Mr. and Mr.'s Feng."

Wei Jin voice sounded out as he remembered the proper etiquette he had been taught recently. Feng Rou parents nodded their heads in approval before Madame Feng motioned to the spot next to Feng Rou.

"No need to bow for so long dear. Please take a seat."

"Thank you."

Wei Jin finally took his seat but was sitting slightly more upright than what was natural and had a very stiff back. Feng Rou who was sitting next to him instantly noticed the difference and started to laugh changing the mood in the room.

Both her parents smiled at seeing their daughter laugh and sent friendlier glances towards Wei Jin. His face soured slightly when he heard Feng Rou laugh and finally his back started to relax. Feng Rou finally stopped laughing and introduced her parents to Wei Jin.

"Wei Jin this is my mother, Feng Xing er."

She motioned towards her mother and she bowed and then motioned towards her father.

"And this is my Father, Feng Shan."
