Lu Chen entered the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror again. I have to make sure. Still not entirely sure this is reality, he brought his arm up and,

"Ouch!" Lu Chen screamed as he pinched himself. There was a mark on his face, but it brightened too!

"This is reality!" What he felt was pain! He knew this wasn't a dream, but real life!

Lu Chen frowned. How is this possible? Traveling back in time was unthinkable for him. Lu Chen couldn't think of any reason why he was sent back. And the better question he had was;

Why me? He was an arrogant bastard.

Are the heavens giving me a second chance? But then Lu Chen shook his head as he laughed at the idiocy of the idea. Yet, in this situation, it was pretty logical.

If the heavens gave me a second chance, I can't waste a second of it. Lu Chen remembered the path he had walked before and everything he had lost.

He started to tremble at everything he did.

I swear that I will change and become a better man! Like the oath he had vowed for Liu Fei Fei, this time, he swore to strive to become a better person than he was before.

"Hey, Lu Chen! Are you constipated or something? Come down already!" Lu Hao shouted out from downstairs.

"..." Should I shut his mouth permanently? Lu Chen wondered if there was any duct tape around.

Lu Chen entered the dining room and sat next to Lu Hao. Zhang Wenling returned and brought youtiao (fried dough) and pork buns to the table.

Zhang Wenling smiled, "Xiao Chen, I made your favorite pork buns. You need to eat more. You look so.."

She was going to say he looked thin. Before she could finish his sentence, Lu Chen started stuffing his face with pork buns! As the savory taste of pork and leek filled his mouth, he gorged even more! He resembled a chipmunk filling its cheeks with nuts.

Lu Hao and Lu Aotian begin to back away from Lu Chen, afraid if they stuck their hands to grab a bun, Lu Chen would bite their fingers off. Lu Aotian scolded,

"Lu Chen, slow down, or you'll eat your finger by mistake. No one is going to take your food away."

However, Lu Chen didn't listen as he continued to eat. It's been so long. After getting married to Liu Fei Fei, he had never eaten a warm home cooked meal. For Lu Chen, this meal was the best one he had.

Before Lu Chen could stuff another bun into his mouth, his father, Lu Xiaotong, placed his newspaper down and turned to Lu Chen, "Xiao Chen, go get change and get ready for school. Butler Wu is bringing the car to the front in a few minutes. If you're still hungry, grab a bin and take some with you."

He also took some money out of his wallet, "Here's 3000 yuan for you to spend."

Lu Chen looked at the money that was slid to him. He never realized the weight of the money he held.

His father always worried about his family all the time. The motto he lived by was; family first, everything else second. It didn't matter what happened to him as long as his family was safe.

This was all that mattered.

Lu Chen looked at his family. This was the thing that he regretted the most, abandoning his family. He betrayed them for a woman that didn't love him.

He left the warmth and replaced it with desperation and loneliness. But feeling this warmth again drove him to keep it from disappearing.
