“Do you miss me that much?”

Riordan grinned. “Hell yeah. This is such a wonderful surprise. What about your bookshop, though?”

“Belinda and my parents offered to take care of it on my behalf. They’ve done it before. My bookshop is in good hands.”

“Not Jordan?”

Darby grimaced and shuddered a little. “No, thanks. I love him. He’s my cousin, and at the risk of sounding biased, he’s one of the nicest people in the world, but he’s accident-prone. He’s too clumsy and easily distracted. I won’t be able to relax if I let him look after my bookshop.”

Riordan laughed. “I get it now.”

“Yeah. Where’s Dillon?”

Riordan darted his eyes all over the teahouse, but Dillon was nowhere to be found. “He must be in the kitchen.”
