To the mall

For the rest of the morning, Calvin helped Madelyne on doing the house chores in the house.

Calvin did most of the heavy kind of chores which involves lifting heavy stuff like changing the water container in the house while Madelyne did the easier things.

During the time Calvin was helping Madelyne doing the laundry, Madelyne asked, "Is your sister still sleeping?"

"Hmmm?" Calvin hummed in response as he looked at his phone for the time.

"Looks like it. It's still 9:30 so she's probably still sleeping." Calvin answered.

Madelyne sighed, "Seriously, other people are already up and doing something while she's still in her bed."

Calvin chuckled, "You know how she is mom. She always stay up late chatting and playing with her friends."

Madelyne stared at her son in the eye, "Your talking as if your not doing it as well."

Speechless, Calvin could only force a smile, "Hey at least I sleep earlier than her."

Madleyne snorted at his words, "Doesn't matter. It's still the same."

"No it's not." Calvin defended himself.

Madelyne rolled her eyes as she said to Calvin, "Forget it. Go wake up your sister and tell her to eat and help us on the chores."

"Ok." giving a short reply, Calvin headed upstairs and walked to the room next to his where his sister's room is located.

He knocked on the door first before saying, "Hey sis, wake up. Mom's telling you to get up already and eat so you can help us in the house."

When he didn't hear a reply from the other side, he knocked and repeated his words again but this time louder.

He kept doing this until he heard an annoyed shout from the room. "What is it Cal?!"

Before he could even say anything, he heard the sound of footsteps in the room so he waited for his sister in front of the door.

A few seconds later, the door opened up and revealed his older sister, Marilyn Fort. She was 21 years old, 2 years older than Calvin and is the eldest of Madelyne's children.

When you first look at her, you will instantly be reminded of their mother due to their similarities.

Marilyn clearly inherited all her mother's genes. Having the same beautiful face, silky long black hair and beautiful black eyes and the same beautiful and curvy body, it was almost impossible to not believe that they are related in blood.

Though more often than not, due to their mother's young appearance, they were mistakenly thought as sisters instead of being a mother-daughter pair.

Currently, Marilyn has a sleepy look on her face while still wearing her pajama which is just a shirt and shorts but one could tell that she was annoyed at first glance as she glared at her younger brother.

Calvin smiled apologetically, "Sorry sis but mom told me to wake you up and have your breakfast so you could help us out on the chores."

Marilyn is still annoyed but she knew she couldn't do anything since their mom was the one who said it and she knew better than anyone else that she will get scolded a lot later if she doesn't do what she was told right now.

Marilyn sighed, "Ok tell mom to wait a bit."

After saying that, she walked back to her room without bothering to close her door.

Calvin shrugged and go back downstairs to the laundry room where Madelyne is, still doing the laundry.

Madelyne looked at Calvin as he walked towards her and asked him, "So where is your sis?"

Calvin answered, "She said wait a bit."

Madelyne looked at him with doubt, "She didn't go back to sleep did she?"

Calvin shrugged, "I don't know. But I think she's washing her face right about now."

Madelyne sighed, "I do hope so. That sister of yours sure is lazy."

Not long after, they heard someone walking down the stairs as they heard Marilyn ask loudly, "Mom! Whats for breakfast?"

Madelyne headed to the living room and said to Marilyn, "Finally woke up huh?"

Marilyn apologized, "Sorry mom. I didn't notice the time when I slept."

Madelyne sighed helplessly, "Go eat your breakfast and help us out. There are hotdogs and toast there already."

Marilyn smiled, "Thanks mom."

Madelyne headed back to the laundry to finish it with Calvin. After a few minutes went by, Marilyn also helped out in doing the rest of the chores.

When it was noon, they took a break and eat their lunch together. After lunch, they continued doing the chores until they finished by 2 on the afternoon.

Calvin rested for a few minutes before taking a bath to refresh himself and prepared to go to the mall with his friends.

Before he leave the house, he said to Madelyne who was resting on the couch in the living room using her phone. "Mom, I'm gonna go now."

Marilyn who was laying on the other couch and playing on her phone as well looked up to Calvin, "Ohh? Where you going Cal?"

"To the mall. I'm gonna meet up with my friends to buy the VR headset for the new game coming up." Calvin replied.

"Ohh that game? Where did you get the money to buy one?" Marilyn asked Calvin.

Calvin answered, "I have some saved up and also borrowed from mom. Anyways, do you guys want something in the mall? I could buy it while I'm there."

Madelyne took a moment to think before saying, "Could you buy some pizza on the way. Just pick the hawaiian one."

She took some cash from her wallet and gave it to Calvin. Right at this moment, Marilyn also added, "Buy ice cream too."

Calvin looked at Marilyn , "Where's the money?"

Marilyn smiled, "Of course from mom."

Madelyne raised her brows at her daughter's words, "Wow you have money on you and yet you want to use mine?"

Marilyn pleaded, "Please mom, just this time."

Madelyne snorted, "Hmph you say that even though I'm sure your gonna do it again some other time."

Marilyn was too embarrassed to say anything else so she just looked at her mom with a pleading look on her face.

Madelyne sighed and gave up, "Fine buy ice cream as well."

Marilyn and even Calvin smiled happily as they said together, "Thanks mom."

Madelyne rolled her eyes and said sarcastically, "Your welcome." She then gave more money to Calvin for the ice cream as well as some extra for the taxi fee.

Calvin asked them, "What flavor do you guys want?"

Madelyne said as she once again turned her focus to her phone, "Vanilla is fine."

Marilyn was also back to her phone as she replied, "I want the macha one."

Calvin took note of it in his head as he said, "Ok got it. I'm going now."

Madelyne looked up and said, "Be careful ok?" and Marilyn did the same, "Take care Cal."

Calvin smiled, "See you later." as he headed out of the house.

There he waited for a taxi to come by and said to the driver to head to the mall.
