Angelina wiped her mouth elegantly after finishing her meal. She could tell that one of the people was staring at her.
"Stop staring at me in that way. Your hot gaze has the potential to burn my soul."
Lucy shifted her gaze. "Angelina, our meal is finished. Can we get out of here?"
Angelina leaned against the back of the chair lazily. Her posture indicated that she did not wish to leave her seat. "Why are you in such a rush to leave this place? I'm in a great mood today and in the mood for something sweet. Let's get something to eat." She handed the menu over to her personal nann... er, I meant Andrew.
Andrew eagerly accepted the menu and began to browse it.
Lucy slapped the table and greeted her teeth. "Angelina, don't make fun of me. You know I'm already feeling uneasy sitting here in this outfit. But now you're teasing me. Why did you make me dress so casually in a white T-shirt and denim? I am looking completely out of the place."
Grayson was taken aback by her sudden outburst. He cast a disapproving glance at Angelina. He could understand that she likes to tease and make fun of people. But she shouldn't make people do things they don't want to do.
Andrew looked at her as well. He assumed she must have a reason.
Angelina looked at her calmly. "You've been with me for so long that I assumed you'd overcome your overly self-conscious behavior."
Lucy froze when she heard her. She came from a low-income family. As a result, she always wore old, worn-out clothes to school and was subjected to the teasing gaze and taunting of others. She'd developed the habit of becoming self-conscious of what she was wearing. She ducked her head down, embarrassed.
Angelina sighed as she looked at her sitting there with her head down. "Instead of accepting things bravely here, you act like an ostrich once again." She took a brief pause and continue. "By the way, I didn't bring you here dressed casually to treat your self-conscious disease. I don't want to look out of place, so I make you wear these clothes to make myself comfortable."
Lucy's mouth twitched as she watched her shamelessly accept her selfish actions. She was experiencing emotional distress, but her boss would not allow her to grieve.
When Andrew saw this side of Angelina, his eyes soften. He could tell she genuinely wants to help her assistant, whom she regards as a friend.
"Why did you grant us the honor of dining with you, Miss Hunt?" Grayson assumed she wouldn't invite them without a reason.
"I'd like to talk about the investment in your artist's upcoming film." Angelina entered a business mode and stated solemnly, "I have checked the data of Andrew's previous movies and he had given some big hits that cashed out quite a lot of money."
"What percentage of profits will be distributed?"
"Fourty-sixty," Andrew said without hesitation.
Angelina raised an eyebrow at the profit-sharing percentage. She was expecting a 50/50 split.
"You will have a sixty percent profit sharing," Andrew said clearly, understanding her thought very well.
Hearing him took her by surprise. Yes, she enjoys profit, but both of them were equally invested in the film. She can't cheat people; it was against her principals.
"Are you certain? "Can you do math?"
"Yes, I made this decision after careful thought. This is our first time working together. I need to provide you with some benefits so that you will not hesitate to sign a contract with me in the future."
Angelina extended her hand to complete the transaction. "Deal."
Andrew smiled softly as he shook his hand with hers.
After finishing their meal, four of them stood outside the restaurant deciding who would drive them home.
"I'll drop you off at your house." Andrew didn't want to pass up the opportunity to spend time with her.
Grayson approached Lucy and said quietly, "I'll drop you off at your house. You don't want to be the third wheel between them." He pointed towards Andrew and Angelina.
Andrew learned that his manager was also attempting to exploit the situation. A glint flashed across his eyes. "Grayson, you must attend the meeting with Mr. JJ, the director." He had a mischievous grin on his face. "You're not going to miss it."
"Ba**trd," Grayson muttered to himself. He was well aware that Andrew was exacting his vengeance for referring to Angelina as an evil woman. He shifted his gaze to Lucy and gave her a longing look.
Lucy found his pitiful expression amusing. He resembles an abandoned puppy. "It's okay," she said, raising her hand and patting his back. "You must not avoid your responsibilities, and that troublesome superstar is your responsibility."
Grayson sighed as he contemplated his fate. "You have to promise me a dinner date with you. There will be only TWO of us."
"Alright. I'll then treat you to a delicious dinner." She said her goodbyes and approached the two people.
Andrew was driving the car, and he insisted Angelina sit in the passenger seat beside him.
Angelina noticed Lucy's reflection in the front mirror. "You're considering agreeing to date Grayson."
Lucy's train of thought was interrupted when she heard a voice from the front. "I just want to go with the flow," she said, shrugging her shoulders. "We were meant to be together, only time will tell."
"If someone wants to pursue you, Angelina. What are you going to do? Will you dismiss him or give him a chance?"
Hearing the question, Andrew's back stiffened. He is also interested in the answer to this question. He lacked the courage to turn and face the possibility that her response would disappoint him.
"It depends on who was pursuing me. If he isn't attractive, he has already missed his chance, and if he isn't sincere enough, he doesn't deserve an amazing person like me."
Andrew examined himself in the mirror to see if he was good looking or not. Lucy was amused to see him acting like that. Since she asked the question, her gaze has been fixed on him, noticing his funny expression. She believed he genuinely liked Angelina. The question is whether he will be able to win her heart.
Lucy was dropped off outside her apartment. Lucy tapped on the window. Andrew slid the window down. "Best wishes. This is your last chance, or it will be too late." Then she turned to face her boss, who was staring at her. "Night, Angelina. I'm hoping to see my boss smiling in the morning."
"Why so mysterious?" Angelina stated as she gazed at Lucy's residing figure. "What did she say in your ear?"
"She revealed one of your company's biggest secrets, which could bankrupt you." He cracked a joke.
Her face was creased with displeasure. She shifted her gaze outside the window.
"I was joking." He could tell she was still upset. "OK, I'm sorry. Please don't be upset."
Angelina shifted her gaze to him. "I despise it when people curse my company to bankruptcy." She had a solemn expression on her face.
Andrew gulped when he noticed she was upset. He appeared to be in trouble.
