this may be for the best as the kaiju was engineered to fight him so it may also be poisonous or toxic for the mc. it was also more easily killed so maybe it was entented to be consumed.we already got ourselves the titan in the cover so is their even a need for further evolution so early on, I would personally be more interested in seeing our turtle use weapons like kong did.

This is honestly the dumbest thing he could have possibly done the kaiju have already proved that there aware of him and are sending units that can combat him so sice he just left it hes not gonna evolve and they will be able to kill him easier. Everyone is saying he better not help in the next fight but even if he did he would still die so idm but your story author

Mc made the right choice in giving away the Kaiju corpse. He needs them to develop the Jaegers asap. Though Mc needs to be strong enough not to be killed by the robot Jaegers. So he shouldn't give up any other corpses.

don't help in the next fight and steal the corpse when they're done

This is too stupid, the MC will only survive the next fight for the power of the script, they are literally stabbing him and he doesn't consume what he knows will make him stronger, the movie even with corpses was difficult for the humans, it seemed to me too quite hypocritical when he passes through the mountains at high speed without caring about the lives of other living beings but in the city he is careful, the hypocrisy of the hero at its finest
