not necessarily. once the cannons are used in any major siege or battle it will not be long before a rich lord like tywin or house hightower start making efforts to acquire them
Canons existing in this current world, doesn't mean it's well known in the whole Planetos. The few canons I mentioned used by pirates were stolen from YiTi. Since they were the Chinese counterpart of the story, so it definitely came from them. They were the ones that invented fireworks that then evolved to canons to begin with. And I doubt that the other Kingdoms are aware or even care for such technological advances in Yi Ti since they are closed minded and ignorant, especially the Westerosi. in overlord there was no language barrier coz the six the six great gods of the theocracy used a world item to eliminate the issue. this item has not been used in westeros so the former slaves should have no idea what MC is saying.

MC is too powerful to face any resistance from humans, dragons or white walkers. the only meaningful resistance or trail he can face in game of thrones would be in the form of development, administration and politicking subordinates. like daenerys faced when she freed all the slaves in the slave cities. setting up an administration system which is fair, free of corruption and permotes development will be quite a task. dealing with multiple languages if MC goes to Esso.

they have scorpions,just use those. if you Wana add cannons in your story add them later on through MC accidentally introducing gun powder or the citadel coming up with the formula to counter MC.

well the three options would be , before the dance, before roberts rebellion or at the start of the show or some time in between. depending on what type of fic you wish to write. if you wanna go the kingdom building route then during Roberts rebellion. he could get the lordship, develop the lands, influence the politics so that by the time the white walkers come everybody is not at each others throats. or he could annex some territory and make an independent kingdom. or he could pursue kingship of the 7 kingdoms which would come with its share of headache. or go to the gift and extablish a thriving democratic republic which is able to support the wall enough to repel the white walkers, coz he doesn't wanna deal with westeros nobles( timeline will have to be during the dance for the population to be able to grow
