The next day, Sunday

Edward woke up early in the morning and did his morning routine as usual.

However, at around 8, he didn't go to the usual shooting site to start recording.

This time, he rode a jeepney and headed towards his university.

Well, not exactly the university, but not far from it.

A while later, Edward came in front of the 6th-floor apartment building and greeted the owner with a handshake.

"Hi, I'm Edward. May I ask how much the rent here is?" Edward asked after shaking his hands.

"Hello, I'm Ralph. The monthly rent depends on the size of the apartment you want to rent."

"The cheapest were about ₱ 600 per month. However, that kind of apartment is the smallest. It's a single room typed apartment with only bed and cabinet. There's no toilet. However, there are public toilets on the first floor so you don't have to worry about not being able to shower and shit. Normally only one person can live on it and it was made specially for students. It's small but it's very cheap, what do you think?"

As if thinking that he was only a student, the owner first introduced the cheapest

"Is there any better?"

Edward was stingy by nature, and hearing the price, he was also tempted.

However, thinking that there were no toilets and that he had to go to the first floor if he ever needed one, Edward had asked for a better one.

The owner was surprised for a moment.

Looking at the young man before him, his eyes suddenly lit up and his business sense tingled, and for a moment, he seemed to become a different person.

The sleepy and lazy expression on his face dissipated, and he began explaining the rest of the apartment building.

"For ₱800, the size of the apartment is a little bit bigger; it's still the same, but it's a bit bigger. There's no toilet, however, there's a double deck bedroom."

"For ₱ 1,300, the size was big, and aside from the bed room, it has a separate toilet with a size of 13x13 ft. It's like a small house."

"For ₱1,800, the size is about 15x15ft. This time it's not a single-room typed apartment anymore. It has a living room, the bathroom is not big but has a shower, and it has a small kitchen with running water."

"For 2,300, the size was about 18x18 ft. It's a real house. It has a big bedroom, a living room, a full kitchen, a bathroom, and it has running water."

"For 2,800 square feet, it has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, and a full kitchen."

"For 3,200, it's the same as 2'800, but it's bigger; the walls and ceiling were painted white, and the rooms..."

The explanation lasted for a while, and Edward felt complicated and didn't know what to pick.

As if noticing his hesitation, the owner's eyes became even more energetic, and he offered him to visit each apartment one by one.

Edward nodded his head and followed the owner.

After checking the apartments and seeing how they looked inside and out, Edward finally decided which one to pick.

He chose the apartment, which is worth ₱2,800 a month.

About 22x22 ft. Big, with a separate bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room, etc.,

It's expensive, but thinking that it was beautiful, convenient, and had a nice view on the veranda, he finally choose it.

After signing a contract and paying two months worth of rent in advance, Edward shakes hands with the owner.

Looking at the owner's smile, Edward was stunned for a moment.

'wait.. beautiful? comfortable? veranda? ' Edward was dumbfounded and realized that this was not something he cared about.

In fact, some cheaper apartments were also beautiful, comfortable, and had verandas.

'Did this guy just trick me? '

Looking at the back of the owner, Edward felt unreal and realized what a powerful salesman can do to people with money in their pockets.

If it had been before he crossed, such a situation would never have happened.

Is it because I had money that I let down my guard?

Although he was annoyed, Edward didn't do anything.

The contract has been signed, and he's not petty enough to back down just because he thinks that he was fooled.

"At least the apartment unit is good, so it's really worth it." Edward muttered and felt satisfied.

The reason he was renting an apartment in the first place was to find a comfortable place to live near his university.

As a person who had gone to college in the past, he knew very well how inconvenient it was to travel between home and the university every day.

The time spent preparing, bathing, walking, commuting, etc., took a toll on his energy.

By the time he arrived at the school, he was already exhausted, which affected his learning efficiency a lot.

Knowing how hard it was, this time he decided to find a place near the university.

Well, there's also a dormitory that was owned by the school.

As for why he didn't consider that place to live,

It was because he had also rented a dorm for a while in the previous time and space.

The dorm was small, and he was not the only one who lived there.

Perhaps he was just unlucky at that time, but anyway, the dormmates who were assigned to him were filthy.

They are always sweating, and it stinks; they didn't wash what they ate; their laundry was scattered on the ground; and they made noise when they slept.

Not only that, because of how messy they are, it was hard to concentrate on his studies, and at one time his book was even stolen by them.

Remembering how he lived at that time, Edward couldn't help but shudder.

There's no way he will return to that helish place.
