Nice beginning, but if I may suggest, the characters showed up out of nowhere. If you can, describe the surroundings, establish the world so that readers can have a nice context. For example, when Sandra and the other students started laughing, only then was known that they were surrounded by people in a cafeteria. So if the readers know what's the context beforehand, the events will be more meaningful.
