His pregnancy function needs a gender choice option so he doesnt have to worry about any sons eyeing his harem. Even when he gets older and if theres no immortality options he is likely to get a few younger girls even without specifically targeting them for that reason and he can keep his current ones attractive. Better to have daughters even if he doesnt intend to target them. Plus they will be living with plenty of strong and successful women to learn from.
