Realm of Myths and Legends

Hello! Just thought I'd give a quick introduction of myself. I'm DaoistZenFeng, this is the very first novel I've written and I'm hoping to learn a lot on this long journey I feel I have ahead. This story is about reincarnation, though with a bit of a twist. Usually it's some modern person reincarnating into the fantasy world, but this time its a cultivator who reached the apex reincarnating into a modern world to well... Play a VRMMORPG video game! Hahaha, so join me on this crazy adventure as Izroth adapts to the modern world and becomes the best gamer in the world! P.S. I plan on starting off with 1-2 chapters a day but my current goal is to eventually try to do at least 7-14 chapters a week total for now.

If you stop writing this novel, I'll come and find you and torture you till you start writing again, do you hear me @DaoistZenFeng? don't test my patience lol, just kidding, the story is good and I like it, don't drop it.

This is the first time I have ever did a review for novel. In my opinion this novel is really refreshing. It doesn’t have those side characters where you bump into them and they automatically want to kill you and your whole family. There is really isn’t any plot armor where the main character finds some stupidly overpowered item at the start of the game. Unlike most other main characters that get transported from another world he actually uses his knowledge from his old world. He is not afraid of others and doesn’t hide his powers like every other main character from almost any novel. Too top it all off, he is never afraid of a challenge. Now there are a few cliche moments made by the side characters but, it’s never a constantly reacuring thing in the novel. The author keeps improving the unrealistic moments in the novel and does so at a very rapid pace. Plus the author is willing to listen to the readers and improve on his work so the story only gets better as time goes by. I recommend reading the novel up too chapter 30 before deciding whether to drop it or not. I am pretty sure that once you read it too there you will be hooked. I have also noticed a lot of the other reviews about this novel and have got to say that you can tell they have not read a whole lot of the novel. So take it from someone that has read the novel up to the latest chapter and, has read way too many other novels, make sure that the people you listen too has at the very least read half of it. After all that’s what the reviews are for. So that the people that have read most of it can give their opinions on the novel so that new people can develope a basic idea on what the novel is going to be like.

I was hipped for this novel with in the first three chapters. Until the author made the MC retarded. Why do so many authors like giving the MC an OP background just to nerf him by making him retarded? The most fun i had with this novel is when he is not actually playing the game. When he is out in the real world kicking some ass. I wish i liked it when he was actually playing the game but his over explanation of things makes me not enjoy it. So far the Mc has been playing the game for two days and it seems that about 3 days have past in RL since he has started playing. Since after logging of the first time it took him over 24 hours to log back in to play for the second time. When he went back to play it was at chapter 57. It took a total of 117 chapters for him to log out of the game for the second time. The author says that the games time is 10-1 RL time(10 hours in game =1 hour real time). So if the story keeps going at this pace. And lets say the MC will play the game for 1 year then it is safe to say that this novel will be about 21,054ch long. Since three days have passed in the story and those three days is 174 chapters long. There are 121+ 3's in a year. So divide 365(years)/3(days) you get 121.66666repeating. So 121(days)x174(chapters)=21,054. remember that the 121 is a full year in the story. So **** that I'm out!

An OP MC that occasionally misses some swing and occasionally doesn’t notice someone spying on him even though he has thousand perhaps millions or billions years of experience. Who knows how long the strongest cultivator can live. He also has a mother complex, although not seeing the other as a potential wife, like most MC’s that don’t have an irreconcilable feud with their family.

The story is amazingly repetitive to the point it feels like the aim is to fill the word count. The MC keeps saying how insulted he is and mad he is at the way people are treating him, but instead of dealing with it in the most direct way, as an amazingly OP cultivator who has lived thousands of years would, he decides to play weak every time. Its full of cliche's to the point that it doesn't feel like an original novel, more like a merge of two or three popular ones, you don't really need to read it to know the storyline.

Realm of Myths and Legends is a novel of missed opportunities. It implies a unique perspective of a cultivator of 1000+ years being introduced to a VRMMO. Unfortunately, the mentality of the protagonist devolves into that of the archetypical VRMMO playing MC slowly learning mechanics and gathering epic loot and dealing with the usual virtual bullies present in many VRMMO novels. His 1000 years of cultivation are only accounted for by his ability to determine whether or not people are trying to plot against him, deceive him, or use him. Even then, there is a case where the MC allows one such "evil" individual to partake in an "S-class" quest, despite not sharing the quest with that person (which seems completely unaffected by the fact, and can follow the MC and his group without restriction anyway). Aside from this, the only other thing his 1000 years of cultivation afford him is his ability to recreate his various cultivation and combat techniques within the game. Overall, what had appeared to be a new, interesting spin on a old idea turned out to be a big disappointment.

the story was good at first, but the MC don't act like a thousand years old person. i mean you are in a different universe what is the first thing you will do? obviously find more information, but go in a game he know nothing about not even the Basics. someone with thousands years of experience should know how important information is. human are in top of world because of their intelligence and that how they made cultivation possible in this part of the story, should not he know at least that?

some random villains keeps popping up everywhere . And every villain encounter Mc is always shock because they are strong and it gets annoying that makes me want to strangle the author .. This is not a virtual reality game anymore. From my perspective Mc is just a stupid person and loves carrying noobies . He helps other people but he doesn't even help his mother who is working really hard just to make his life comfortable. But all Mc do is play games gives unique items to strangers.... And he's not even earning money on this game..... In 300 chaps he is still poor idiot old man.. That always relies on his mother . And he just play stupid game .IM WONDERING WHY PEOPLE KEEP VOTING THIS..

I love the story plot, the way the MC create new skills, almost everything is fine, except for all the guild matters, how is even posible that all the guilds are "famous" and they have ranks like general, colonel, lieutenant and they guild didnt even exist or at least they are not created yet, thus dont make any sense, also they talk about pro players but no Esport from RML exist, the way that you are developing the guild matters are like the way described in the king's avatar, but there, they have an Esport for background, there is no way that every player know from which guild belong which player because the guilds are not created yet, you can say that you are from X famous guild and they have to believe you, this do not make any sense, also every guild member act like a Chinese sect and is so boooooring in that way, we want a story about a cultivator in a video game vs normal people or even skilled people that are a world champion in X martial art or X discipline like archery or something like that not another wuxia story with boring sect things

I decided to write my first review what had all what I think about this novel. - First of all.... ITS TOOOO SLOW PACED, reminds me about cultivation chat group where basically evry fkng day was mentioned. - Second of all is that MC loves to do some kind of useless ****. Like well... Talk with trash wich takes him like 10 chapters or more. Or do something really stupid and inconsistent. - Third is again. MAGIC. How the hell pple lvl up in there? MC basically SOLO cleans whole dungeon and gets most XP posible BUT THERE ARE PLAYERS WITH LVLS HIGHER THAT HIS?! Like wtf? - Forth is what I mentioned above and more is INFO DUMPS, just one over another. Srsly! I can basically skip entire chapters cause well... Battle wich is not even interesting. - Fifth is magic PVP masters. Game is basically VRMMO so you have to have ability to move in one way or another. Why the hell there are so much combat masters? Like srsly one over another. With their magic lvl ups. - Sixth is just story is getting boring. Like wtf? He does one thing like for 4 chapters with tons of tons of info. Also the SHOW BUT NOT TELL makes me rage. He says WOW SO NICE ITEM.... to get in description in like tons of chapters. - Seventh is that the writes said us that MC is basically 1000y.o cultivator so he has to be like so fkng OP beating evryone easily. But he has to tryhard as it looks like. - Eight is that how the game works.... Giving and boss with like milion HP? For what goddamn reason? Just to waste another 5 chapters with infodumps all over the places. - Ninth is that MC loves to waste time on useless ****. He can take a ploblem just for no reason for himself and later give excuse "I wanted to see how to pvp ingame". He just makes stuff difficult for himself for no apparent reason. Sometimes he looks like clever guy.... But a lot of times he does inconsistent ****. - Tenth is that Enemies that MC meets are over his lvl alwase and the most hatefull are crits. Like why dont you makes One shot abilities? No lets drag the battle for hrs. Why class asassin even exists? Also some class has just insane lvl of difficulty. Like combat master, where somehow you have to make your own skills wich MAGICALLY game can interpret. I'LL. MIGHT ADD MORE LATER. THE PROGRAM IS LAGGING. NICE OPTIMIZATION LOL.

Writing quality is good in terms of grammar most of the time but the vocabulary is stale and boring. It's mentally taxing reading one chapter since how dull it is. Chapter release is steady, not surprising for a stale story. Sorry, gotta be toxic. Story development is milked, no doubt about that. The author makes too many questions for things and no answers for many. Character design is honestly garbage since the experience of Izroth doesn't match up. The strongest of his original world but he can't dodge and can't sense anything watching him, you're in a cultivation world that is dog eats dog. Where is your intuition? Due to this the MC's fat fucking layers of plot armor stands out. World background? What the ****? I gave it two stars? HAHAHA, I'm dropping that down to one. There is honestly no foundation for world development. I started reading this when it first came out, I let it sit and maybe I might come back to it later. Maybe I might enjoy it then? Came back recently and realized, "This is just a stale story that is targeted for freshies who don't have a brain to know quality."

a game novel taste xuan huan and pretty cliche. the author didn’t try to rationalize things on the novel like how the game console truly works; how it’s possible for the console to scan & measure the body condition & structure, how the AI works and its limitations, how the system can deduct an act as a potential skill & its mastery/power lvl, etc. and there’s one more that bugging me that the mc still need to “browser” the previous body holder memories, is he have a 2 brains or something?

The basis of this is that a loser dies and his body is inherited by someone who is a REAL IMMORTAL CULTIVATOR. The cultivator Izoroth then instead of become badass in real life getting immortality and fame and money. NO he wants to play video games. BULLSHIT. He can probably use real magic and martial arts that are cool as hell why for any reason would he instead go and use FAKE mage and martial arts in a video game. If I could fly do you think I would be playing a superman or ironman game. **** no i would make a **** load of money with the military bombing people. Or some altruistic hero **** is what i mean.

the story is good but why do it take so long for the next ch I waited a year and only 10 ch came out if u want to take my money I need more to read if not I'm judt going to find something else to unlock

What should I say? I rarely leave an comment in Qidian but my eyes bled like hell. Writing-Quality is so-so, which is acceptable for new authors, but the MC is dumb af and propably a laughing stock in his past live. Even in the beginning chapters he tried to help people, who actually want to kill him - the dumb**** even knew it. He knew people have malice against him but he still behaves like a wannabe brain. Some events doesnt even make sense, like there is a rational and smart way to solve problematic events but the MC instead goes backwards in order to solve it. There's also alot of unnecessary text blocks which are redundant and only makes the story hard to read. Dont get me wrong, the story has a lot of potential but there are just to many holes without any sense (like how the mc died in the first chapter on open streets but no one reacted and cared, as if the whole area had no people and vehicles). I guess it was my bad to have high hopes for new authors or im used to good written famous novels.

too many plot holes. how is it his friends are keepin up with him in lvls...... feels very dull reading vr part. i only was happy to read the irl part of the novel and i dropped it.

It's a good novel grammatically, with decent world building and characters. One major problem. Everything. Takes. So. Damn. Long. End a chapter on a cliffhanger and then spend the next 20 chapters on a side character. Story arcs that go for way too long. He'll craft an item and then 10 chapters later you'll see the stats for it. He sets something up, the system will say: done in 24 hours. At the end of the 24 hours it turns out it wasn't enough time and will need 30 days. And at the end of the 30 days? Wasn't enough time, now the time is: UNKNOWN. Wtf. At the end of a chapter he'll open up a treasure chest and gasp, oh my hod, it's a...... And the chapter will end, and 30 chaogerd later the item he gets will come up with what it is.
