Chapter 7- Ahead Of The Others

John's teammates suddenly fell asleep during the apocalypse. John is the only one awake and he will be ahead of the others by farming zombie cores, planting traps and activating defensive artifacts.

Am I the only one awake? Whenever I time travel, I always woke up. Maybe it's because of my artifact that prevents me from seeing illusions, poisons, sleeping gas and other debuffs. My artifact, ring of immunity, can protect me from all debuffs. By the way, it is a mythical rank artifact which can only be found in mythical zombies which is rare in the apocalypse if no one has reached immortal warrior class.

What will I do since no one is awake except me? I read a theory from a local zombie hunter that zombies in the first phase of the apocalypse are all in deep sleep so maybe I can get some zombie core and kill all zombies surrounding my mansion while I'm at it.

Since zombies are asleep, they are just standing waiting for me to grab their core.

John went outside his house, spotting lots of zombies outside. He then use an offensive artifact that killed all of the zombies. He then use the artifact of never ending fire to burn the zombies' bodies, leaving only their cores. After collecting all of the cores, he then use an artifact that condenses and refines zombie cores making it a purer version of the previous zombie core improving it to another class. He made a list of all zombie cores he looted.

121X E class zombie core

109X D class zombie core

97X C class zombie core

49X B class zombie core

13X A class zombie core

That's all I can find since zombies above A class will only evolve at the second phase. It's already lucky to find A class zombies but if they had fought me, I would have died since I'm only at F class warrior rank.I will return to the mansion before it gets too dark.

After returning to the mansion, John divide all of the cores equally for his teammates so that they can consume them after they wake up. He then uses his share of the zombie cores so that he can evolve to E class warrior rank. After five minutes of absorbing the viral energy of the E class zombie core, he broke through E class warrior rank.

Finally, I broke through E class warrior rank! Harry and the other will be surprised about my drastic improvement. I can now use time stop and time rewind. I can also absorb the D class zombie core but that will limit my foundation so I might atleast build a solid foundation.

Building one's foundation is different from evolving. Building a solid foundation is better than improving your rank since if you have a better foundation, you can defeat warriors one rank higher than your current rank. Since improving one's foundation requires time, resources and talent, some warriors prefer improving their rank because it is faster than building a solid foundation. You can refer building a solid foundation as improving the quality of your viral energy while evolving as improving the quantity of your viral energy.

Foundation is ranked by tiers. The higher your tier is the more quality you have in your viral energy. It is ranked by tier 1 up to tier 8. In my last life, I have reached tier 7 but I cannot reach tier 8 since I need a certain artifact to use.

I will now improve my foundation. I need to guide my viral energy into a certain spot on my body so that I can make a new pattern. You can recognise a person if they are a warrior if you see a pattern on their body. After guiding my viral energy for an hour, I broke through from tier one to tier three! Now I can improve my rank.

After using all of my D class zombie cores, I broke through E class warrior rank and now a D class warrior. After breaking through, I realized that all of my teammates are all awake now and so are the zombies. My teammates are all finding me so I will leave my room to meet them. Wait till they see my rank! They will all be jealous!
