University Reunion (2)

Feng Mian looked to the side and saw a beautiful woman dressed in white dress. She stood firm with a glass of wine on her table while her lips curled up slightly. Even though she was merely standing, one could not take their eyes away from her easily.

'Her grasp of the audience is really great.'

"Xiao Lan," Tian Quan called out. He looked at the woman and crossed his arm. "Why are you trying to steal my thunder? I should have been the best in the entire year if not for you!"

Xiao Lan shook her head amusedly. She walked closer calmly. "Just admit that you can never reach higher than second place."

"Just watch! I'll defeat you soon enough."

"I'll be waiting."

Tian Quan huffed and turned to look at Feng Mian. "It's really bad that you can't join the competition. It seems that the queen has fallen from her throne, heh."

Feng Mian's lips twitched. Tian Quan really has a foul mouth. Ah, how she wished that she could make him eat her fist.

"Oh? You're no longer painting, Feng Mian?" A woman asked. Feng Mian recognized her as her previous classmates, but she didn't remember the woman's name anymore.

"I don't have the time."

"Woah, is this really Feng Mian?"

"I thought that you'll continue painting."

"Well, the most successful from our year and department is surely Xiao Lan. There are only a few of us who can continue drawing when we graduate."

"Indeed."

"Gee, Xiao Lan, treat us for a meal next time."

Xiao Lan smiled. "Sure. Pick the time in the future and I'll invite all of you for a meal."

"Woohoo!"

"Yes!"

Feng Mian watched the excitement calmly. She was not fortunate enough to be able to become an artist right away, but it didn't matter. Someday, she would return back to that profession and paint anything she wanted.

"Oh, the food has come."

The one who arranged the reunion today also made sure that there would be enough food. Since this is a three stars' hotel, the food was also very delicious. Feng Mian decided to start eating while talking to some of her previous classmates. From their conversation, she began to pick their names again.

She couldn't be possibly blatantly telling them that she had forgotten their name, right?

That would be… impolite (A/N: you should have said rude)

"There are only five people who pursue painting?" Feng Mian asked after she had stuffed her stomach with food.

A woman near her nodded. "Yes. Xiao Lan is obviously at the forefront. Tian Quan is second, but their gap is actually very big."

"Xiao Lan is amazing," Feng Mian remarked. "She could achieve success so early because she had been working hard by entering a lot of competitions. Her name has been known to some people."

"Right."

Even when they were still in university, there were no rules telling them that they couldn't work. In addition, there were a lot of competitions that they could participate in. Back then, Feng Mian didn't have the time to enter any of the competition, so she didn't have the chance to showcase her work too. There was only the result from her teacher's grading, which placed her at the top of her class.

"Xiao Lan is my idol!" one of the women proclaimed. She giggled. "Someday, I also want to return back to the art world and show my skill."

"Agree!"

Feng Mian also nodded. "Right."

"Eh? You too, Feng Mian? Didn't you usually get a higher score than Xiao Lan when you're in class?"

"Scores you get in class and work can be different. Besides, I truly admire Xiao Lan," Feng Mian retorted. "Why can't I admire her?"

"Then welcome to Xiao Lan's admirer group."

"There's a group?"

"Hahaha!"

The girls laughed to themselves while Feng Mian also enjoyed herself. She was not close with any of them, but it didn't mean that they couldn't talk together. This reunion was not as bad as she thought at first.
