Chapter 11(The narcissistic god)

"He keeps saying I'm his bride officer, I think he's mentally ill and that's why I brought him over here"

His eyes rested on her chapped lips as she was muffling her complains to the officer. He wasn't liking the situation and the fact that she brought him here. This young man could tell she was upto something naughty. Her tensed face gave him goosebumps as he wasn't listening to anything these two were exchanging in his presence but only concentrating on the one woman could determine his survival on land. It was his first time on land having no guardian and the first person he came after was his supposed bride. Though his main reason for coming to earth was to get the pendant from that girl. He had no intension of marrying her either but from the little he knew about human girls, they loved attention and wooing ladies was just his thing, once she falls for his charms, boom, she would tell him where that pendant was, unlock its powers, and finally punish her for belittling him. His eyes scrowled at what she wore. It made her look like a mummy and he wondered if she was dead and had brought him to the gatekeeper of hell because he doubts if she would make heaven. Her ruffled hair and pale face gave him a reason to believe his assumption. This place was disgusting to him especially seeing how much this place was filled with books and files which he hates. Even his servants at his wards doesn't live in such a small place.

Earlier, he could recall she had told him to unfreeze the time which he did immediately just not annoy her further because the goal was winning her over. The next thing, he saw that she ran out of him, though told him to remain in the same position, and in few seconds while he was still waiting she appeared with men dressed in an awkward uniform who calls themselves the police. They pointed what he termed as sticks at him telling him to come along with them. He had actually thought they were convoys on land who were there to pay homage, however, that was the opposite because they handcuff him and forced him into a moving box which was literally a car. There was nothing he could do because he was suddenly feeling weak and losing his powers or else, he would have frozen these men along with his bride whose name he was unaware of.

Here he was in a container according to his description, sitting opposite a plump man with no smiles and glaring at him. The only thing separating them was a desk filled with books. He was feeling irritated and sick by this place. How could he express that? If only they knew who he was.

"Who are you sir?" The officer began as he saw that the accused was just scanning the whole place and cussing at him. His eyes rest on this girl who folded her arms adjacent him . He could tell she was really maintaining her distance from him as he suddenly recalls the first day they met. It was in the water, when she was almost drowning and had cried out in her heart for help. That day, he had intensions of exploring the sea by swimming and had seen something sparkling in the water from a distance and perceived how turbulent the sea was at that time. Curiously, he swam further and noted that the pendant was hung around this girl whose eyes were staring at him when he appeared as a dark hue. He asserts his brother had caused that sea wreck earlier because the pendant had summoned him. Damian had to keep as a secret. Luckily, the storm had to stop because his father's faithful soldiers intervened by capturing that furious brother of his. Being a strong swimmer, he swam to towards her and kissed her to survive. Once he saw that she was unconscious, he brought her out of the water and made her lay on the sea shore. Damian blamed himself for not taking the pendant from her neck when he had the chance! He narrowed his gaze at her, she certainly wasn't even his type and was only here to get the pendant along with her. She should be grateful that the almighty Damian saved her twice just to get closer to her.

"Is he deaf? Doesn't he speak?" The officer continued drawing the young man's attention towards him. Shockingly, a bright smile was his respond from Damian.

"There he goes again with the smile!"

Her voice tingled his ears as he rubbed it softly while groaning silently. His patience would almost elapse and these two humans before him where disrespectful.

"She's my bride, my father resurrected her mother while she was pregnant and in exchange betrothed me to her" he rapped crossing his legs and ducking his head at the officer who saw this puzzling. He saw how the officer stared at him going all numb.

"He must be a lunatic" the officer responded as he shoved his gaze at the young lady, assured her that she could return home while he handles the case of this stranger. Judging from observation, the proud prince looked unbothered as he believes his reply had cleared up the issue. Damian who was watching the officer writing down words and trying to read it, suddenly felt a palm resting on his shoulder. He shoved his face slowly to see who had that warm palm on him and suddenly realized it was the young lady who caused this fuss.
