54 Car Chase

Mike got on a plane overnight and headed straight to Florida.

The next morning, when Mike arrived in Palm Beach at the airport, he saw Parker, who was now cosplaying as a billionaire cowboy accompanied by someone who strikingly resembles Jeniffer Lopez.

They were here to pick him up.

"Who is she?" Mike asked, looking at J-Lo look alike.

"Hello! I'm Leslie. I'm a real estate agent," she replied with a warm smile.

"Hello!" Mike greeted back.

"What are your plans?" Mike looked at Parker.

Parker glanced at Leslie and then turned to Mike. "I'll tell you about our plans when we get back," he said.

"OK," Mike replied, his curiosity piqued about Leslie's involvement.

At that moment, Mike felt the need to address the situation.

He turned to Parker and said, "If you consider recruiting her to be involved in whatever trouble you are about to do, you'd better make it clear to her. If not, then let her go. Otherwise, she'll be a ticking time bomb."

Parker understood the weight of Mike's words and reluctantly agreed.

Parker explained the intricacies of their plan to Mike and Leslie.

"Alright, I'm in." Mike nodded in agreement as he spoke, signaling his willingness to join the operation.

"I'll join too! I know the ins and out of Palm Beach. All I'm asking is for you to give me a small piece… So I can get the hell out of here."Leslie, too, expressed her desire to be a part of it as long as she could achieve financial freedom.

Parker and Mike looked at each other, exchanging glasses knowing what Leslie's skillset could offer.

Mike told Leslie, "The most important thing for you is to stay safe and alert. Don't get too close to the house we're about to go to. We suspect there's a professional killer around, and if you get involved, it could cause trouble for all of us. Don't do anything stupid, and you'll be left intact."

Leslie nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation.

Mike's intention was twofold - to protect Leslie from danger and increase his favorability with her.

After all, Leslie can be regarded as a heroine of this show.

As they drove away from the airport, Mike's [God-Level Undercover Skills] activated, and he noticed from the rearview mirror that they were being followed.

Recognizing the severity of the matter, he immediately urged Parker to let him drive to lose the people following them. "Mr. Darmitt, we're being followed. Let me take the wheel."

With Parker's trust in Mike, he didn't say anything and just pulled over and switched places with Mike.

"Guys, what's happening?" Confused by their actions, Leslie couldn't help but be baffled.

"Nothing sweety, just hold on tight." Parker has heard from their small talks at the garage that Mike is on par with Dom when it comes to driving cars, he's now excited to witness it finally.

With his [God-Level Car Skills], he immediately mastered the inner workings of the Bentley convertible.

*Screech*

With one kick to the accelerator, Mike pushed the limits of the car.

Maneuvering skillfully, he led the chase away from populated areas and onto smaller roads.

Mike's car slithered through the driveway with the finesse of an agile snake.

Suddenly, a massive truck bore down on him, barreling forward with menacing intent.

In an instant, Mike's instincts took over, and with expert precision, he initiated a controlled drift, gliding away from the impending danger.

The pursuing vehicle mirrored his maneuvers, a dance of death on wheels as they whizzed past each other.

As the adrenaline rushed through him, Mike couldn't help but wear a satisfied grin on his face. "NOT TODAY TRUCK-KUN!" he shouted, filled with madness.

"What did you say?!" Parker asked Mike about the peculiar phrase he shouted whilst preparing his gun for an inevitable gunfight.

"Nothing!" Mike responded with a hint of sadness as he was the only one that can understand the reference.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Leslie was screaming the whole time….

With a quick decision, Mike veered onto a small road, opting for a less-traveled route to shake off any potential pursuers.

The car's performance might not be top-notch, but Mike's prowess behind the wheel would undoubtedly tip the scales in his favor during this high-stakes pursuit.

It was a classic case of skill triumphing over sheer horsepower, a fitting challenge for a man accustomed to daring exploits and life on the edge.

Seeing a slope ahead, Mike asked Parker sarcastically to disable the tailing vehicles. "Hey Parker, which car's tires are you going to aim at? There'd be a good chance of losing them if you don't shoot now."

"You don't need to remind me, mate." with that, Parker peeked through the window and start shooting.

As he approached the slope's peak, Mike executed a sharp U-turn, the tail of his car barely brushing against a streetlight.

In the blink of an eye, the maneuver was flawlessly executed.

However, fate was not as kind to the pursuing vehicle.

Unprepared for the sudden change of direction, the car behind Mike careened out of control, slamming into a nearby shop, its desperate pursuit now halted.

Mike's quick reflexes and precision driving had once again granted him the upper hand, outwitting his adversaries and leaving them with no choice but to regroup and reassess their strategy.

With adrenaline coursing through his veins, he pushed onward, determined to stay one step ahead of his relentless pursuers.

Each twist and turn in this high-octane chase only fueled his determination to outmaneuver them at every opportunity.

After all, there was no room for hesitation or error in the thrilling world of espionage and danger.

That's what he learned from his [God-Level Undercover Skills].

Only the swift and the skilled would emerge victorious.

Mike remarked to Parker, "That person seems to be a professional hitman."

Parker nodded in agreement, fully aware of the danger they faced.

Meanwhile, Leslie tried to appear composed in the backseat, but her face betrayed her fear. Mike turned to her and advised, "Stay alert, Leslie. Hitmen are going to be targeting you, and you must be ready to leave this place."

Parker chimed in, reinforcing Mike's warning, "He's right, Leslie. You need to take this seriously."

Feeling the need to protect their newfound ally, Mike offered a solution, "You can come to California with us. I have good connections there with the police and FBI."

Due to Mike's significant contributions to the director, Mike's relationship with the California Police Department and the California FBI is not bad.

Emboldened by their support, Leslie's face brightened a little amidst the fear.

As they continued their intense conversation, Mike shared their next plan, "This time, we're going after the real threat!"

Parker nodded in agreement, intending to eliminate Melander and his crew together right from the start.

Mike then asked, "First, we need to deal with the killer from before. Where is your room?"

"Room number ##, Chadwick Hotel," Parker replied. [E/N: idek what hotel that was]

Determined to take the upper hand, Mike swiftly drove past supermarkets, procuring essential tools along the way, and then headed to Parker's apartment.

Their mission had just begun, and the stakes were higher than ever.

The journey ahead was fraught with danger, but with their skills and resolve, they were prepared to face whatever challenges came their way.

The trio finally arrived at Parker's apartment, where they relaxed and enjoyed a leisurely drink after Mike set up a trap using his [God-Level Mechanism Designer].

The trap was so simple that he didn't need to make us of his unique skill [Top Mechanism Designer].

At that moment, hurried footsteps echoed from outside the door.

Mike swiftly glanced at the camera near the door, pressed a button, and conveyed to Parker, "It's showtime."

Parker's lips curled into a mischievous smile as he curiously observed the setup, remarking, "Indeed, it looks quite interesting."

Meanwhile, the killer outside peered through the peephole, confident in his prowess, and twisted the doorknob with one hand, believing he had the upper hand.

As the killer outside turned the doorknob, unbeknownst to him, the gears within the door setup silently engaged.

A hidden crossbow swiftly emerged from beneath the peephole, and the bowstring tensed with a soft but deadly sound.

Without warning, arrows from the crossbow shot through a concealed hole under the peephole, finding their mark on the killer's neck.

In the room, Mike and Parker raised their wine glasses in a toast, clinking them with satisfaction as the ingenious trap worked flawlessly.

*Clink*

"Cheers!"

"Cheers."

When Mike and Parker put down their wine glasses, the killer covered his neck and fell silently at the door.

To ensure absolute silence, Mike meticulously dug a hole beneath the peephole, discreetly concealing a crossbow behind it.

A carefully crafted piece of paper, matching the door's pattern, masked the hole, leaving the killer unaware of the imminent danger awaiting him.

The hidden crossbow sprang to life when the doorknob turned, dispatching the deadly arrows at the target's neck.

To prevent any accidental casualties, Mike also installed a camera system, guaranteeing precise identification of the intended target.

"Our job is done," Mike remarked to Parker as they calmly disposed of the killer's body.

With the use of a special solvent, the blood vanished without a trace, leaving no evidence behind.

Mike deftly moved the lifeless body to an unoccupied neighboring room, which Parker had thoroughly investigated.

Being a luxury suite with infrequent check-ins, it was likely that the body would remain undiscovered until the next guest arrived.

By then, Mike would have returned to California, and Parker would have vanished without a trace.

With the task completed, Parker raised his glass in admiration, acknowledging Mike's expertise.

"It's truly remarkable to have you by my side. That mechanism was quite fascinating," Parker said.

After appreciating the compliment, Mike smiled and clinked his glass against Parker's, causing the red wine to swirl gently within.

Amid the triumph, Mike couldn't help but ponder the significance of his [God-Level Mechanism Designer].

He mused the delicate balance between life and death, how he controlled situations with meticulous precision, and its impact on those around him.

In his heart, Parker couldn't help but smirk.

Such tasks were trivial for his god-level skills.

It felt almost like overkill.

The true accomplishment of his intricate plans was not the mechanisms or traps but the ability to manipulate others, bending them to his will.

"Do or die!" Parker whispered to himself, fully aware of the stakes involved.

There was no room for failure. To fall short of the mark meant certain death.

Survival was contingent on meeting the standards he had set, and even then, reaching that threshold came with a painful toll.

This was the essence of his artistry, the pinnacle of his craft.

Yet, despite the high stakes and the painful prices, there was always a glimmer of hope, a flicker of a chance to survive.

That hope kept the thrill alive, making each success all the more rewarding.

At this time, Mike and Parker are just waiting for the day of the heist.
