Grave News

Hendrix entered the auditorium along with the rest of the students. There were three levels of seats inside and a stage in the center of the room with a giant TV hanging above it. Additionally, there were doors on both sides of the stage.

"I wonder what this assembly is about." Hendrix thought while walking to a seat, climbing up, and sitting down before massaging his forehead.

As Hendrix pondered, more students arrived in the Auditorium, sitting down and beginning to converse amongst themselves. Once students filled most of the room, the doors closed, and a light shined toward the stage.

The door on the right of the stage opened, and a middle-aged woman walked out onto the stage. She had a monocle, long dark purple hair, red eyes, and wore a long blue dress and high heels. In contrast, she had a solemn expression, gripping her microphone tightly.

"Hello, students, I am Principal Syble, and I welcome all the new ones to Glyphic high. Sadly this assembly isn't a celebratory occasion." Principal Syble announced in a grave tone into her microphone.

All the students quieted down and looked at Syble with wide eyes. Hendrix also listened in, wanting to know why.

"For generations, we have taught that everyone will enter the crown world, but to only treat it like a game with only one life. Well, sadly, this view must change." Syble proclaimed solemnly before putting her hand into her right pocket and pulling out a remote.

"Our earth and the crown worlds fates are intertwined, as are the countless alternate earths across the multiverse. Each one's fate is codependent on the hundred and one Empire's they are connected to." Syble stated, sighing a bit.

"So I must insist that every one of you will do everything in your power not to let the Empire's our earth is connected to fall." Syble pleaded before pressing a button on the remote.

The screen turned on, and a futuristic city with flying cars flying around was on it, and it looked peaceful. However, all of a sudden many gigantic miasmal portals appeared on the ground across the city.

After almost fifteen minutes passed before countless skyscraper-sized phantasmal constructs rose from the portals, they were see-through, and their tops looked like a hammer.

There was a strange visor on the front of their tops, and they had a swarm of appendages underneath. They had five long spindly limbs they used to walk as they shot beams of miasma out of their appendages.

When they hit the buildings, they went right through them. However, the buildings started to melt as all the materials used liquefied slowly. Their structures also began to warp and contort in shape.

The people in the city tried to fight back with their magical powers, techniques, and other methods. But attacks were all nullified the moment they touched the constructs themselves.

People hit by the attacks slowly started to be mummified alive. At the same time, the ground began to petrify slowly.

All the students looked at what was on the screen with their eyes widened while shivering in their seats. Hendrix lay disturbed as well.

Meanwhile, on the screen, some of the constructs chased the people and captured them in droves before bringing them to a circular part at the back, and they disappeared.

Afterward, the phantasmal constructs continued chasing other people and continued to capture or kill them. Tears filled the eyes of the people on the doomed earth as they pleaded for someone to help them, but no one came. After this, the TV turned off.

Almost all the students began to cry after seeing the fate of the alternate earth whose people failed to stop the Empire's it connected to fall.

"The world governments received this video a few days ago. And it also has a message after it."

"There are countless other earth's already destroyed or are being so. Some others are in a better position but hang on by a thread trying to defend the last Empire's protecting their worlds." Syble proclaimed gravely.

"This is no longer like a game where you have one life, but there's a threat to our earth's survival. If we fail, this will be our fate as well. Everyone, please do your best to protect our home." Syble pleaded before sighing again.

"Everyone, please head out into the hallway. Some staff will give you a wristlet, which will bind to your wrist. It has a screen, and the information you need is in its database. Your choices for classes, your assigned dorm, among other things." Syble stated, trying to bring up the mood.

"Now, please leave the Auditorium. You have two days to choose classes, get to know your dormmates, call your family, and get comforted." Syble stated before leaving the auditorium through the door on the left side of the stage while crying.

Hendrix sighed, realizing the bleak reality of their existence, as he got up and left. Once he entered the hallway, he received his wristlet. Afterward, he quickly checked the available classes after turning on his wristlet.

The choices were wilderness survival, magic, carpentry, cooking, exploration, history, medical knowledge, fitness, herbal studies, etc. Hendrix thought about his options and decided to wait until he woke again to figure it out.

Hendrix briskly checked his dorm information and instantly frowned deeply, learning he was in a mixed four-person dorm and was the only guy there before he sighed, wanting to be alone, as he trusted no person and never wanted to.

Subsequently, Hendrix found out there were directions to his dorm on his wristlet. Before immediately following them, it led him to one of the five giant towers on the sides of the school building.

He entered and quickly headed to where his dorm. After entering, he took an elevator to the twenty-first floor. Once he left, he went down the hallway and arrived in front of a door.

Hendrix quickly looked at his wristlet, and it scanned the door, and it opened. Subsequently, he promptly ran past the common room and arrived in front of his dorm. He scanned his dorm door, and it opened.

He entered quickly and closed and locked the door behind him. Before getting ready for bed and changing into the academy pajamas provided by Glyphic high, and promptly fell asleep.
