13 Chapter 8: Let’s rock [2]

Hello there! I hope you're having a wonderful day!

I'm just passing here to ask you guys to read the new auxiliary chapter "Some explanations". There you will find some terms and explanations for things like: magic, how it works, ranks and some others.

Also, this chapter is purely fictional without any other intend behind it aside from a fun read.

(Don't try it home, kids.)

And lastly but no less important, sorry for the wait.

Right after Hai did his crazy idea, the world experienced a change.

When Hai did his crazy plan, he didn't know how it shred the fate the world's will had bestowed upon the protagonists and heroines.

Nor did he know that it made possible for the big players and hidden powers to freely act unlike before.

Now, without suppression from the world, they can be what they were meant to be and not someone who will simply wait for the protagonists to grow and come to slay them.

No one who reaches the top is stupid or naïve. They wouldn't have let the protagonists or anyone become a threat to them.

And the world is going to experience it in first hand.

The gears of fate have started spinning.

Would Hai, the big players and the hidden powers be able to tear fate down completely or will fate rewrite itself before they can completely free themselves from their doom?

Will it be the final run or just another one?

Nobody knows.

Only one thing remains:

Either they will dominate and subdue the world, or doomsday will come.

It's either do or die.

Place your bets.

The countdown has started.

*RUMBLE*

"Damn Hai. What did you do this time?" In the top of a building, a woman with pink hair and bunny ears asked herself when she saw the news about what was happening outside.

And although she isn't certain if it was Hai, it's impossible for him to not be involved with it.

All the events in the past that seemed like the world was going to end had been caused by him after all!

Hong Li-Wei or Viral Widow as she is called in the Nexus Net muttered to herself but she wasn't really bothered with it.

She has gone through some (several) insane situations with Hai and this is just another one.

The world is just ending.

Just another day in her job.

Suddenly, several light blue panels appeared before her.

"Status."

*BEEP*

"Omega ready."

*BEEP*

"Alpha ready."

*BEEP*

"Beta ready."

*BEEP*

"Gamma ready."

*BEEP*

"Epsilon ready."

Viral Widow nodded.

"You have 10 minutes. Start operation."

"Affirmative." (x5)

Right after, the panels vanished and gave place to red ones.

Those red panels have several numbers, graphics, images and some are even connected to several communication lines.

"Let's f*cking go." Hong Li-Wei grinned.

This one little operation of them will throw the whole China Federation in chaos.

While the world was almost ending, 5 figures wearing pitch-black clothes could be seen before a huge skyscraper.

It isn't possible to know the gender, face or body proportions of those figures as their clothes hide or slight changes it.

They were simply there, standing without doing nothing.

When suddenly, their communicator beeped.

*BEEP*

"You have 10 minutes. Start operation."

The figure who seemed to be the leader placed their hand on their neck.

*BEEP*

"Affirmative." An undistinguishable voice responded the voice coming from the communicator.

The figure put its hand down and started to walk towards the building's entrance.

The other figures also started to walk behind the first figure.

*TAP*

The sound of their footsteps was almost inaudible due to their years of experience but with the loud thunderclaps, vehicles crashing here and there and the loud sound of several cars' horns, it was impossible to hear it.

They entered the building and walked ahead towards the stairs going up.

The lobby was a mess.

Several papers scattered across the floor, people hiding beneath chairs, the receptionist behind her desk and even the robots who are responsible for the cleanup were short-circuiting and banging against a wall or simply lying on the floor.

The figures didn't bat an eye to all of this and simply went up the stairs.

When they arrived at the 45th floor, they meet a blue barrier blocking non-authorized personnel of going ahead.

The first figure walked towards the barrier and crouched down near the wall.

The figure extended its arm towards where the barrier and the wall were connected and suddenly, some lines glowed in its arm, and its forearm opened and a metal claw holding a small purple crystal come out.

The claw extended itself towards where the barrier and the wall were connecting and the crystal glowed, suddenly, the crystal shoot a tiny and almost imperceptible laser.

The laser pierced through the barrier and stood exactly where the barrier touched the wall.

The blue barrier started to dimmish in color and then, an opening big enough for one adult orc pass through opened in it.

"Let's go." The leader said.

The other four figures suddenly drew out weapons from seemingly nowhere.

Something resembling a shotgun but with enough barrels to be mistaken with a hive if saw from the front.

Dual energy pistols.

An automatic anti-magic rifle.

And some knives whose edge glows in a neon red manner.

The leader simply took out a pistol and held it in one hand.

Then,

"Go."

The leader dashed at inhuman speed up the stairs.

The other figures didn't fall behind and followed close after.

"Huh?" A troll security guard who was guarding the door to the 46th floor snapped out of its daze from the news outside and looked at the stairs where he heard sounds of several footsteps coming.

The guard entered in a fighting position.

There wasn't supposed to be anyone coming up here in this chaos.

Something is wrong.

*BANG*

With a muffled bang, a bullet flew from below the stairs and traveled the air just to lodge itself in the security guard's forehead.

Sadly, this is the future and cybernetics are a common thing in here.

The bullet didn't even pierce 3 cm before being repelled.

The guard narrowed its eyes and suddenly his arms glowed.

His forearms opened and submachine guns shot up from there.

He aimed it towards the stairs and opened fire.

*TATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATATA*

(A/N: I know, it's lame but I didn't know how to write this specific sound.)

*SWOOSH*

*TYU*

At the base of the stairs, the team of black figures was standing beside a pillar right in the turn which would make them be able to view the security guard.

They stood there for 5 seconds watching the bullet rain and finally when they saw that the security guard wasn't going to stop anytime soon, the leader raised their right hand, lifted the index and middle finger, joined them and brough them down.

A figure behind the leader and that was using knives came forward and looked at the walls.

Then, the figure suddenly threw its knives in the wall.

The knives went towards the corners of the wall and then…

They ricocheted!

*CLANG*

Upon hitting the wall, the knives ricocheted and went towards one step of the stair.

They hit the step, went upwards, each knife hit a bullet and the strength behind the bullets coupled with their angle, speed and the trajectory the knives were going, sent the knives slightly sidewards and made them hit the corner of the wall where the wall and ceiling almost meet.

The knives hit there, went upwards, hit the ceiling and then rained down.

All of this happened in less than 3 seconds.

The guard who was raining down bullets suddenly felt a chill run down his spine and turned his eyes upwards.

And the last thing he saw was a red glow.

*PUCHI*

Seven knives pierced the guard's eyes, throat, liver, chest, genitals and forehead.

Each one of them was aimed to kill.

*THUD*

*SSSSHHHIIIIISSSSHH*

The sound of a small amount of vapor resounded in the now silent stairs.

All of the black figures dashed upwards and started their operation.

One figure, the one with a shotgun, barged in the 46th floor's door and not even seconds later, gunshots and screams could be heard.

The other figures didn't wait for him and dashed upwards.

When they reached the turn for the 47th floor, they once again stopped.

2 seconds later, the lights in the whole building went out.

"What is this?"

"Idiot, it's a power outage. It's chaos outside there, it's no surprise that the lights went out."

"Who are you calling idiot, you dimwit!? We have a f*cking generator in here! How the hell are we supposed to suffer from a power out-"

*BANG*

Three bullets arrived. One aimed at one security guard and the other two aimed at the other one.

When they heard the gunshot sound, both security guards dumbly turned towards the place where the sound came from and their vision went black.

*THUD*

The leader touched their neck.

"Security guards are silver. Potentially equipped with cybernetics geared towards killing. Defense will most likely depend on their race." The figure brough down their hand and sprinted up the stairs.

This time, it was the figure with an automatic anti-magic rifle that barged in the floor.

*TATATATATATATATATATATATA*

Sounds of several bullets being repeatedly fired were heard shortly after the figure entered the floor.

The team once again didn't wait for their member and sprinted off towards the 48th floor.

After taking down the security guards in there, they went to the next and finally, only the leader was going to the 50th floor.

*TAP*

There was only one security guard in there.

It was an elf man with a slim build and red hair.

The elf's ears perked up and he opened his eyes.

He looked below the stairs and leisurely walked towards where he could see the bottom of the stair.

"Come out, I know you are in there." He said.

*TAP*

The leader stepped out of the shadow behind the pillar and stood facing the elf man.

"I assume you are here for my master's life."

The leader didn't answer.

Instead, they started to walk up the stair.

The elf raised an eyebrow at this.

"I see. Well then, I will have to send you to your grave." He assumed a fighting position and lunged at the leader.

The leader calmly walked up, unbothered by the elf flying in their direction with his hands glowing a bright green light.

The elf moved his left-hand forwards and shouted.

"Nature W-"

*BANG*

The elf's eyes suddenly lost color and he simply flew towards the leader while motionless.

The leader stepped aside and the elf crashed against the wall on the bottom of the stairs.

The leader arrived before the door of the 50th and kicked it open.

The door that was a titanium-made one that was supposed to even withstand nuclear explosion simply flew off its hinges and crashed against the window behind the desk on the opposite side of the room.

*SHATTER*

The door shattered the window and fell down towards the street.

The leader entered the room and looked towards a corner of the room.

An orc man wearing a black suit and red necktie could be seen seated on a chair and with his arms resting on a table while he drinks a small glass of vodka.

The orc looked towards the invader but didn't show much expression, as if already expecting it.

"My time has come?" He asked and gulped his drink in one go.

The leader for the first time answered a question today.

"You should have known about it already when you meddle with that business." The leader undistinguishable voice resounded even more emotionless this time around, as if they had a grudge with this orc.

The orc raised an eyebrow.

"You seem to hate me." He commented not really expecting an answer.

His hand that was below his table started to slowly transform itself.

*BANG*

The orc's hand exploded.

"Kuh-!" He groaned in pain but raised his head showing a helpless smile.

The leader simply aimed their already raised gun at the orc's head.

"I am sent here just to kill you, but I might as well send a message along."

The leader voice suddenly chilled even more. It was enough to freeze someone with weak will.

"When you reach in hell, prepare a long table and chairs. There is going to be several new residents moving there."

*BANG*

A bullet left the leader's weapon, travelled through the air and went towards the orc's head.

In a last effort, the orc tried to dodge the bullet.

Moving his head a bit to the side he was able to evade the bullet and it passed through him just grazing his right cheek.

The orc smiled seeing this but the leader simply lowered their gun, turned around and started to walk back to the door.

The orc got confused but a second later, he felt lightheaded and started to feel as if he was floating.

"Ah…"

His vision darkened and he died.

The bullet the leader had fired missed the orc's head, just for it to hit the wall, ricochet towards the side, hit the furniture, the wall, ceiling and dive down right into the orc's head.

The leader raised their hand and touched their neck.

"Omega finished."

*BEEP*

"Copy." A feminine and somewhat energetic voice answered the leader.

"Go towards the rendezvous zone." The same voice said.

"Copy." The leader answered and the transmission was cut off.

The leader touched their neck once again.

"Rendezvous zone." They said briefly and put their hand down.

The leader started to descend the stairs again.

When they reached the floor below, the member of their team who was in charge of this floor simply came out through the door and followed behind the leader without a single word.

This scene repeated itself until all members of the team reunited and then they went down all the stairs.

When they reached the lobby again, the situation was relatively calmer but nobody was at easy, hence they didn't care about 5 people dressed in pitch-black clothing exiting the building.

They went out and saw that it was still chaos outside.

Not paying attention to the mayhem that was ensuing, they went towards an alley behind one building that was in front of the skyscraper that they just exited.

Arriving in the alley, the leader crouched down, opened a manhole cover and stepped aside.

The other members all went ahead and started to jump down one by one.

When the last one jumped, the leader looked around and entered the manhole while closing it behind they.

When the leader fell, instead of touching the floor, the leader fell right on a comfortable seat.

He looked at their team and then at the pilot of the vehicle they are in.

"Rendezvous zone."

The pilot nodded, started the vehicle and speed off in the darkness of the tunnels.

So, I wanted to ask what you guys think about this chapter.

Although I have a little experience with action scenes (but just a little), I have never done something in this style before, so I want your opinion about it. If something feels off or there could be more details, those things.

Also, I'm doing the finals adjusts in the smut chapter however, I will say this now:

It didn't come out as lewd as I thought. It is more of a slight emotional chapter since it's the first time between Hai and Elena.

I should be posting it later today and I would appreciate to have your opinion about what I can improve when I do.
