Loud sounds of the alarm clock resounded through the spacious room as dim rays of morning sun peeked through the window.
A masculine person with deep scars diverged around his body slept on the coarse mattress almost completely naked, only covering his lower part.
If looked closely, one could notice the accumulated sweat lined up on the person's pale face which befell onto his long hair that settled on his shoulders.
*Beep*

With another beep of the alarm, the person's eyes opened as his intensified breathing regained normality.
The person stroked his forehead wiping the sweat away as he muttered:
"That hellish dream again"
The noticeable dark eye bags and the somewhat lifeless eyes were the after-effects of not getting enough sleep, which was caused by the tormenting dreams.
The person's name was, of course, Kevin.
"Today is the day I will finally break through into the superhuman realm," Kevin smiled wryly as he rose from the white mattress that was drenched in sweat as well.
Because of that, the entire room reeked with the intense man's odor.
Although it was unpleasant, Kevin couldn't do anything about it. Every day he had to go through the same dream with Sophia dying right in front of his eyes, and wake up fully drenched in sweat.
Kevin tried taking many different pills and even asking for help at the hunters association, but nothing helped, so Kevin just tried not to dwell on the matter anymore.
'I should break through faster,' Kevin thought as he moved towards the corner of the room where a dark backpack was placed.
Kevin opened the backpack, revealing a purple crystal that shone with incredible brightness. However, it was different from the usual soul ores Kevin had absorbed so far.
The slight red tinge in the center of the ore indicated that it came from a beast that was about to break through into the superhuman realm.
Kevin took the crystal in his hands and immediately felt the immense energy brewing within him as he sat down on the ground.
Without much doubt, Kevin took the ore between his hands, beginning the process of absorption.
Breaking through to the superhuman realm was one of the most difficult moments on the path of cultivation, which truly showed whether the person was tough enough to continue.
"Poof... I should begin" Kevin began to pump the mana out of the large crystal as veins emerged from all over his body.
The orb started to shine with an even brighter purpleness only to get conquered by the redness, which exploded with a luster all of a sudden.
Kevin felt an immense pain go through his body, but the serenity on his face did not disappear.
Throughout the five months after the incident in Hiroshima City, Kevin had been training, tempering himself, and increasing his and the servant's power.
Following the usual troupe, he had become many times stronger.
In the morning, he would fight against his own servants until being on the verge of losing consciousness.
After resting for some time, Kevin would go to the God Arena, which had already been rebuilt, and fight three opponents.
This way, not only did he manage to get enough money to buy soul crystals, Kevin got famous as well, going by the name Zelgius.
However, even after five months in the arena, Kevin only made it to the fourth floor. The opponents inside of it were many times stronger than anticipated.
Still, it was a great experience for Kevin, as he not only got better in combat but at the use of the god's power as well.
There were some changes in Kevin's own body that slightly worried him. The change was an incredible increase in talent, every time Kevin trained he actually felt the mana flowing into his body, which was never the case before.
Although it is a positive change, Kevin still has many doubts as there is a lot of mystery surrounding this case.
Kevin believes that it has something to do with the dream he experienced right after he lost consciousness five months ago, and the only person who could know the reason for his change is...
General Oda.
Kevin clearly remembers how Oda has done something in his own body back in the Hunter's Union, making him the only person who could possibly know anything.
That's one of the reasons why Kevin wants to join the army as soon as possible.
"Shi*t... this is too painful," Kevin cursed as he proceeded to surge the mana out of the crystal, gritting his teeth in pain.
Breaking through the big realms is one of the most painful experiences unless one does it through training, which is many times more strenuous than absorbing crystals.
However, when someone tries to break through to a larger realm, there is almost always a person who would help by using external means, something that Kevin doesn't have at the moment.
Of course, Kevin could have gone to the Hunter's Association and asked for help, but the inability to believe in a stranger's abilities forced Kevin to do it himself.
"I need to stay calm," Kevin tried to spread the pain over his entire body so that the strain in the upper part body would lessen.
However, an even greater amount of mana pouring out of the ore forced Kevin to stop as he once again gnashed the teeth in pain.
Kevin's entire body ached with intense agony, while his skin grew redder from the heat going through his blood.
"Come on," Kevin said, seeing the brightness in the entire room slowly regaining its naturality as more and more mana poured into his reservoir until he felt it fill completely.
"Cough....cough" Kevin coughed out some black marble as the ore fell out of his hand and instantly shattered upon hitting the floor.
Despite the tremendous pain that spread through his body, Kevin also felt a certain airiness, as if he had just been bathed in the holy fire that removed every impurity from his body.
After a few seconds, Kevin was already back on his feet, not feeling any pain anymore. Kevin clenched his hand into a grip, sensing tremendous power coursing through his body.
With a wry smile, Kevin said:

"Finally...I did it" Kevin looked towards the screen with eyes full of resolution. However, the number of free servant spots caused Kevin to form an even brighter smile.
"As I thought, the number of servants will only grow with the higher realm I reach....so two per realm, not too bad," Kevin said, but a sudden screen that popped right in front of Kevin's eyes caught him by surprise.
'There are more benefits?' Kevin thought as he inspected the contents of the screen.

"Servants vision?" Kevin asked himself before clicking on the screen, causing the description of the skill to appear.

"Well, that's unexpected...Does it mean that I will get more skills in the future?" Kevin wondered before continuing, "Although the skill isn't bad, it's nowhere near the potential of the [Ability Sharing]"
"Nevertheless, I should be grateful"
Kevin ducked down and cleaned up the disgusting impurity that left his mouth before proceeding to look into the screen.

At a certain point in the beasts' life, they can evolve into different species, which can be an incredible boost in power. Sometimes, if the beast is lucky, it is even possible to gain a new god power, like did the Wolf.
However, his new god power wasn't that good, causing Kevin to lose his ambition.
"Alright, before leaving, I have one last thing to do."
For the first time, a genuine smile spread across Kevin's face as he took out another item from the backpack. It was the scroll with two dragon heads on each side, which still glowed with bright gold color.
"Let's hope it's something good," Kevin placed both hands on the golden dragon heads, beginning to surge his still chaotic mana forward.
Unexpectedly, the scroll reacted immediately and began to slowly shift away, as if it was agitated by the continuous mana surges.
After a few moments, the scroll was already fully open, revealing the contents, which seemed to be handwritten in black ink.
Intrigued, Kevin read through the scroll.
The more Kevin's eyes moved, the more shocked he became.
"How could such valuable information be simply stuffed into one of the gears? And how did my father come into possession of something like that?"
That was the first question that flashed through Kevin's mind.
The scroll contained information that would be sought by anyone, the Hunter's Association, the army, or even the generals themselves. If anyone knew the contents of this scroll, they would surely try to take it away by any means necessary.
The scroll described the easiest way to reach the urban stage and even the realms beyond. Although it may seem to not be so valuable, it was actually one of the greatest secrets in the world, known only to certain people.
Cultivating to the superhuman stage is the easiest step in cultivation while advancing to the urban stage is many times harder, but still plausible.
Of course, for the averagely gifted, it might take many decades, while the talented might make it in a few years.
However, the biggest problem is progressing beyond the urban stage, where even the geniuses might not be lucky enough.
The way to properly advance in cultivation, facing as few restrictions as possible, is sought by every human on the planet, and now it lies in the hands of... Kevin?
