The Eternal River

Sasrir opened his eyes as he gazed at his surroundings to find out where he was now and his black pupils suddenly turned golden as he used rune magic to try to analyse the situation in this place.

He finally seems to be floating in the endless space with countless stars dotting the space around him. His eyes narrowed further to check more to only find every shining star in space is an actual star rather than a phantom or an illusion.

'Did I come to a different universe?'

Sasrir thought, as he tried to move in this place, only to find himself fixed in space, as he was restrained.

Just when he wanted to try some other methods to find out the current situation.

He heard a faint, illusory whooshing sound in the endless space.

Sasrir looked under him, which was the direction that the sound was coming from.

His golden eyes saw something that he couldn't fully comprehend.

At the end of the endless space, there seems to be a void.

Amidst this emptiness flowed a straight, wide, illusory, colourless, dark river. This river seems to have no ending or starting point.

'This river..'

Sasrir's eyes saw more in the river, as his golden eyes are a special magic he created for analysing the rules with rune magic.

He saw only a glimpse of what the river really represented. Even that made him unbearable, as he felt endless pressure directly appearing in his very soul, due to the knowledge he analysed.

'What the hell is this river?'

Sasrir said with some difficulty and dread evident in his tone. It made him unbearable by just analysing the knowledge related to it. This is what made him unbelievable, as both his soul and body are really higher-level than human beings.

And, the Asgard gods are real gods with divinity, unlike what is shown in the movies of his past life. They have near immortal life and power that cannot be analysed and comprehended by any lower life.

Considering this, if any ordinary people approached this place with this river, they would just collapse and be polluted by it before they could even gaze at it.

Sasrir only felt endless pure divinity radiating from the river. He could feel the same power of time and space from this river and also this river seemed to symbolize darkness, repose, endpoint.

But, this was just his analysis of some limited knowledge he gained after he pried into some of its secrets.

'This river is just too abstract for me to understand now.'

Sasir finally concluded from the limited knowledge he gained, he stopped even looking at the river in the void under the endless space.

He knew only by evolving into higher life could he be able to comprehend what the river really is, as it's really abstract for him now to understand now.

'No..'

Suddenly, Sasir felt his body fall in space, it was as if gravity had appeared to pull him into the void, mainly to the endless illusory river flowing within it.

Before he could do anything, he was completely submerged in the illusory and incorporeal river.

Then, he  felt endless darkness and his emotions completely turned cold at that moment, as he felt endless power surging within him and his strength was increasing at an astronomical rate, and he slowly seemed to becoming a supreme being with endless divinity overlooking all of existence itself.

But the eyes of those supreme being he was becoming, were completely indifferent, as if they were devoid of any emotions or attachments.

His thoughts were slowly fading away, as his very self seemed to slowly transform into a supreme being.

But, he was losing himself in this endless power, his very self was slowly disappearing in this endless divinity.

He is losing everything that made him what he is now.

All of his emotions and memories seemed to be blurring and disappearing, as if they seemed to be washed away by this illusory river.

He was slowly drowning in this illusory river and losing everything that made him what he is now, leaving only endless divinity.

Time seems meanligeness in this place, as he seem to fell countless years passed and at the same it's seemed only few seconds. Thus, making him completely lose track of time.

'I need to stop this..'

Sasir thought in despair. Soon, even that emotion slowly faded away. His eyes became all black under the influence of this river.

He even slowly forgot who he was and he seemed to be really becoming like the supreme figure overlooking all of the reality.

But at that moment, in his memories, that was slowly being erased and blurred. There was one dusty memory that was clear, as it didn't seems to be affected by this illsuory river and it was like a star in the endless darkness illuminating the way for him.

Soon, he saw in the memory, a teenager fighting with a sword with a black-haired woman. The woman fought and even pointed out his mistakes in a very brutal way during the duel, causing him to have injuries to his body.

But, that boy didn't have much resentment due to this towards the woman, as he seemed to know that in the future he would also dance on the edge of life and death and he need to be prepared for that.

Outside the duel area, two figures stood as they watched the fight happening there.

A blonde-haired woman had some worry in her eyes seeing the golden blood dripping from his injuries on his body.

A one-eyed middle-aged man stood right beside the blonde-haired woman. He seemed to be indifferent to happening of the duel. But, his golden seems to secretly hold concern, as his eyes always followed the movement of the teenager, ready to save him if the training became unbearable for him.

Sasir's remaining consciousness, which was dissipating in the endless darkness, looked at the memory.

The black-haired teenager is himself. And those people are his family.

With that thought, his all-black eyes lit up with blazing light that immediately illuminated the endless darkness.

All his memories, which were blurred and disappearing under the influence of the river, immediately returned. He finally knew who he was.

He is Sasrir.

And that memory was his spiritual anchor.
