**Deserted Park 4:00 p.m.
"We should go home now Lilun." Elyk mumbled as he stroked my damp hair. It had stopped raining about an hour ago but Elyk and I had been in the rain since 8 so we where still damp and shivering.
"I know." I sighed before kissing Elyk's cheek. We both needed a nice warm shower and clean clothes, the only problem was…"I can't go home." I whispered so quietly that it sounded like I was breathing, even so Elyk still heard what I said.
"Why can't you go home?" His voice leaked concern and love.
"Because it's the three year anniversary of Jak's death. I'm not allowed home since I'm the killer and all." A strangled laugh escaped my lips.
"I see." Carefully-so as not to disturb the sleeping Kairu on his shoulder-Elyk pulled me closer. "I'll just take you to my house since it's your second home anyway." He smiled at me.
"But I don't have any clothes."
Elyk slowly stood up. "You can borrow some of mine, or we can sneak into your room and get some."
The idea of having Elyk in my room made me blush-he was never allowed over when we became friends.
"Oh…okay." I mumbled. "But why are you carrying me?"
"Because you're my princess and I'm you knight in…" he smiled sweetly, "wet armor."
I chuckled and shook my head gently. "Okay my knight." I kissed him lightly on the lips before resting my head on his shoulder. "Let's go home now."
I felt Elyk smile before he started walking.
**Lilun's room 4:40 p.m.
"Be very quiet Elyk, we don't want to get caught." I whispered as I slowly lowered myself to the floor. I was extremely thankful that there was a tree outside my window and that the window was unlocked. "Just stay on my bed and don't move."
Elyk, and the now awake Kairu, gently nodded their heads. I opened my wardrobe and pulled out a black duffle bag before stuffing it as neatly as possible with some undergarments and clothes. When it was filled I zipped it up and tossed it gently to Elyk. I also grabbed my black buckle boots and handed them to Elyk.
"Go." I shooed.
As carefully and quietly as possible Elyk and Kairu climbed out my window and down the tree. I closed the wardrobe and was about to make my escape when the sound of two sets of footsteps outside my door made me stop.
"Why are we outside her room." Rodrick's hateful voice drifted in.
"Because I thought I heard someone moving around." My mother's voice was firm but hesitant. The sound of the doorknob turning snapped me out of my trance and as quickly and quietly as possible I jumped onto my bed, out the window, and onto the tree branch. I quickly slid the window closed before climbing/sliding down the tree.
"Go go go." I whispered hurriedly to Elyk before shoving him. He started running just as the lights in my room flickered on.
"Fuck." Elyk cursed as he grabbed my hand and ran with me to the bushes next to the tree. My mom stuck her head out the window just as we dove behind the bushes and Kairu maneuvered his way home. I was thankful for the black storm clouds that made the outside as dark as night.
"Nothing. Must have been imagining it." My mom did a quick scan again before closing the window. When the light in my room was shut off me and Elyk sprang up and ran back to his house laughing in relief.
**Elyk's house 5:00 p.m.
"You can take a shower now. I left you some hot water."
Elyk turned from his computer and smiled at me before grabbing his clothes and towel. "You can use the phone now too." He said as he walked to me. "I'll be out soon." His kissed me sweetly before going to the bathroom. I walked into his room and closed the door with my foot as I made my way to his bed.
"Hey Kairu." I petted the panting Kairu. I sat on the bed and picked up the cordless phone from Elyk's desk. I dialed the number for the operator and waited for an answer.
"Operator. How may I help you?" A scratchy female voice answered.
"I need to place a call to someone in the Immortal Forest."
"Name and gender." Her voice lacked any emotion.
"Funo, male."
"Please hold." She exhaled before putting me on hold. Crappy elevator music started playing on the other end. I laid back and petted Kairu as I waited patiently.
"Funo Hanigo's residents, Zev speaking."
"Oh hey Zev it's Lilun." Shame over took my body as I remembered how harshly I had treated Zev earlier. "Where's Master Funo."
Zev shuffled around. "He just went to a council meeting."
"Oh." An awkward silence stretched between us that seemed to last forever. "Hey about this morning I'm really sorry."
"Yeah." Happiness leaked from Zev's voice.
"Yeah I'm not the happiest person during rainy days and it wasn't right of me to just snap at you like that. Throwing the book was kinda harsh."
He chuckled. "Yeah you should be happy the book didn't get damaged. Funo would flip out if they did."
"I bet. So yeah I'm sorry and stuff."
"It's fine at least you're feeling better. See you tomorrow?"
"Well yeah I kinda have to go to school and stuff."
"Oh yeah. Bye."
"Bye." I hung up and sighed. "I hate him but I guess flipping out like that was uncalled for." Kairu the came up to my face and started licking it. "Hahaha stop that you dork it tickles." I tried to shove the now average dog sized Kairu off while laughing but that only made him try harder to lick me. He barked happily and wagged his tail when I finally gave him. "You're just to cute to deny." I petted him and giggled as he licked me. When Elyk opened the door Kairu jumped off the bed and ran out wagging his tail a million miles an hour. Elyk chuckled before closing the door and walking over to me.
"Hey." He smiled. I smiled back before pulling him down and snuggling against him. He laughed. "Hey there."
"Hello." I kissed his cheek and snuggled him again. He wrapped his arms around me and held me close. "Hey Elyk what would you do if I told you I was planning on starting a rebellion against Lucifer?"
Elyk tensed. "Why would you do that? You could get hurt or killed."
"But what if I told you that I was planning on training you, Blaise, and Damien to help me?"
He relaxed a little bit. "Then I would do whatever it took to protect my princess." He kissed me passionately.
I giggled and nuzzled his neck. "I love you."
"I love you too."
Our lips met in a passionate kiss that was turning into a make out session when his mom burst into the room.
"Dinner time lovebirds. Quit playing tonsil hockey."
We both turned red. His mom smiled before leaving. We kissed one last time then left for dinner, hand in hand.
**Night time.
"Pst. Elyk." I whispered as I carefully closed the door and tiptoed around Kairu. "Are you still asleep?"
Elyk groaned and turned over to face me. "What is it Lilun?" He yawned and snuggled against his pillow.
"I don't want to sleep alone. Can I sleep in here with you?"
Elyk made a couple of noises as he made room on the bed. I crawled under the covers and snuggled against him.
"Goodnight my knight." I kissed his neck.
Elyk twitched before kissing me softly. "Goodnight my princess."
It wasn't long until I fell asleep wrapped tightly in Elyk's arms.
I was floating in a white room splattered with black just like so many nights ago, and like last time I was in an angel's dress. Unlike last time my eyes where opened so I saw when Nulil appeared before me.
'Did you have a fun day?' She smirked.
I glared at her. 'Why did you make me freak out like that? I could have hurt someone.'
She floated closer to me and placed her hand on my cheek. 'I didn't make you do anything. You willingly came into the darkness so you where letting everything happen on it own accords. I will admit that I did make you do some things but not all of them.'
I smacked her hand away. 'I could have hurt Elyk!'
'That is true. You could have hurt him, if you didn't love him. He now is the one after all.' She smirked again.
'What do you mean by the one?'
She started circling me. 'Elyk is the only one that can save you from the darkness, at the same time he is also the only one that can cast you into the deepest pits of the darkness.' She stopped in front of me. 'So you see Elyk is like the greatest friend yet enemy that you could ever have.'
I glared at her. 'But he would never do anything to hurt me ever.'
She laughed. 'He doesn't have to do anything silly Lilun.'
'What do you mean by that?!'
She ruffled my hair. 'You will learn one day the terrible pain of love. You will learn that love isn't all fun and games. There is a price to pay for being in love with someone'
'What do you mean by that?!'
Even as I spoke those words Nulil and the dream world where fading. I tried to hold onto it for just a bit longer but it was no use. My eyes started closing as the dream world disappeared.
'Till next time Lilun.' Nulil laughed before the dream world completely disappeared.
