76: Irony

While speaking to Persephone for long hours, little did they noticed the sun setting on the horizon, as the night drew closer and closer. Klein was the first one to notice the darkness approaching, he apologized to Persephone for taking her time: "I'm sorry lady Persephone for taking so much of your time." Persephone chuckled and looked at the stars in the sky, the smile on her face was as dazzling as the morning sun: "Isn't it beautiful? The constellations and stars are always so beautiful from the mortal world, you can't see the stars from the Underworld... Or the sun." Klein chuckled as Persephone got up from her seat and said: "Well, have a good night, Klein."

Klein thought for a few moments... Should he live here? In the hidden gardens of Persephone? This place is so beautiful! Maybe Persephone wouldn't mind? But in that case, he would need to do something for her to appease his mind and not feel in debt to her. "Excuse Persephone." Before she could leave, Klein called her. "I lack a place to stay in this... mortal realm, may I stay in your gardens? Of course, it wouldn't be for free, I can do labor as well if you wish me to." Persephone thought for a second, her mother sent an eternal winter down the mortal realm and it is hard sometimes to fight off the cold even though she is spring, so she would need some help to do some things up here.

"I do require assistance with some things in this garden... Very well, I allow you to stay and help me, of course, we can always talk." Persephone offered Klein a polite smile, which Klein answered with a polite smile and nod. "Oh, I am sorry but I do not possess housing for another one, I never would have thought that one day someone would live with me in my gardens." Persephone apologized as she looked quite embarrassed, Klein shook his head and said: "I can make my own home... If you let me." Klein asked, Persephone nodded and Klein smiled, dirt and stone are everywhere, and with Klein's [Manipulation: Earth (S)] he can easily use stone as bricks to make himself a home in the gardens of Persephone.

Using the stone he could gather, Klein made himself a simple abode, but inside it was bigger. By using his [Meta Powers: Meta Space Manipulation (C)] he could increase the interior size of that house infinitely, creating a Demi Plane using his home as an entrance. Klein concluded his work and the next day started to have a peaceful talk with Persephone while watering the plants in her garden, they were talking about animals. While Persephone was stating facts about the canine family that she learned from dealing with Cerberus, Klein was comparing it to the feline family and stating facts about it as well... So they were in a Cat versus Dog situation.

Klein liked cats, they were cute and didn't need as much attention as a dog needed, maybe it is because Klein doesn't like things that require too much attention, or maybe he doesn't quite know how to care for something that requires too much attention.

"And that was when I decided to give him a golden bone, made from the piles of gold ingots from Hades's treasury. He has so much gold that he didn't even notice until he saw Cerberus chewing in a bone made of gold. The face he made that day was incredible!" Persephone chuckled as she remembered the face Hades made, she still asks herself how her husband could stretch his tongue and make it so comically large and his eyes bulge out of his head like that... Klein chuckled as Persephone tried ro imitate the face Hades made, which was sincerely hilarious.

"And you, do you have any story to tell?" Persephone asked, Klein's face continued to be cold as he remembered his life and searched for memories and stories to tell. He had some stories to tell yes, but they were all tales of blood... It was that when Klein realized that his memories of things other than murder and bloodbath were not so vivid. He could clearly remember then, but not as clearly as his bloodbath and war memories. "I do..." Klein smiled as he looked at the clouds, he had no emotions at the moment but smiling was an unconscious act someone would do when remembering something good. "It's a tale about two wolves, a blue butterfly, a deer, and a devil..."

She used too much power to being this baby back to life, but when she saw the baby smile and giggle, it was all worth it. His eyes resembled both his mother and father, one green eye and one red eye, his features were cute... She decided to take care of the child together with her sons Hypnos and Thanatos, so the kid maybe would consider her his mother? That would be great, then he wouldn't seek his mother and maybe Olympus wouldn't find out about Persephone leaving the Underworld and they wouldn't wage war against the very same Underworld... Well, they killed and imprisoned their parents at one point, what wouldn't they do to their own family?

She just hopes this is enough to protect the child from them, the Olympians. Bunch of bloodthirsty and aggressive bastards, she was sure they would kill for a single drachma. Well, Zeus sealed Prometheus away to be eaten by an eagle every day for the rest of eternity just because he gave humanity part of the fire of the Gods... Later Zeus had the idea of creating Pandora and her box, where all the bad spirits resided.

Hunger, Disease, Pain, Death, and Hope. These five spirits were released by Pandora on that fateful day, when humanity was faced with this they prayed even more to the Gods that sent them their very own demise...

That is called irony.
