Ascending Pride

Ascending Pride

Ashton is stuck between an underwater volcano, and a heart devouring dragon. Metaphorically speaking anyway. The princess of the sea has sworn on her mother's life to drag him down. Problem is, Ashton can't be killed. So after hundreds of years of pulling beasts of legend to her side, rewriting history, and backing him into a corner where he broke his heart into pieces, she thinks that with one final push... she may convince Ashton to simply end his own existence. Ashton is fully aware of her little schemes, it's not every day a dragon get's its still beating heart ripped out, then is bound to the land it ruthlessly conquered. Ashton would have even found it mildly poetic that the slain dragon was now forced to bless the land for all eternity... if, and emphasis on the IF, the blessing hadn't been twisted into a curse for the last 700 years. Now, Ashton has a few minor inconveniences to deal with. First, he's stuck in a decaying body. Second his memories aren't fully intact. Third, it would prick his pride if the descendants of "blessed" dragon died while he was in their territory. Fourth, he has two really, really, REALLY scary siblings that don't always bother with the details. Fifth, the only reason this princess and her grandmother even had the chance to scheme against him is because he was looking for a possible mate. He's the only one of his kind, thousands of years alone has him craving for a companion... for a heart to sing just for him... There are really only two outcomes now that Ashton is starting to regain his memories. Will the princess succeed in dragging him down, used as the new sacrifice to keep the "blessing" going, or will he ascend? Well, maybe three outcomes. Maybe this time a heart will sing for him as he ascends... a bird can hope.

Is Slytherin the villain?
Slytherin could not simply be defined as a villain. According to the original novel, Slytherin House did produce many villains, such as Voldemort and many Death Eaters. The founder of the school, Salazar Slytherin, had an anti-Muggle stance. He believed that Hogwarts should be built for pure wizarding students, and he secretly built a chamber in Hogwarts to let the Basilisk kill Muggle-born students. However, there were also members of Slytherin who contradicted this "villain" image. Like Severus Snape, who bravely suppressed his feelings and lurked beside Voldemort while working for Dumbledore; Sirius Black's brother, Regulus Black, who had turned his back on Voldemort and secretly transferred one of his Horcruxes; and Professor Slughorn, who had returned to the battle of Hogwarts at the last moment despite his hesitation. Therefore, Slytherin could not be regarded as a villain. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is not enough. Please click to read the novel!

Harry and Slytherin
There was something Slytherin about Harry. Judging from the characteristics of Slytherin students, they were often very talented and intelligent, and had a fighting spirit that refused to admit defeat. Harry had these qualities to enter Slytherin, and he had Voldemort's soul fragment on him, which was also a typical characteristic of Slytherin. The Sorting Hat even wanted to put Harry in Slytherin at first. But because of Harry's own strong desire not to go to Slytherin, the Sorting Hat eventually assigned him to Gryffindor. Harry and Ginny's son had been sent to Slytherin by the Sorting Hat, not Gryffindor. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was not enough. Everyone, please click to read the novel!

If Hermione went to Slytherin
In the original Harry Potter novel, Hermione Granger did not transfer to Slytherin House, but stayed firmly in Gryffindor House. Hermione is a very brave, smart, and kind character. She has always adhered to her values and beliefs, and has shown extraordinary courage and leadership throughout the series. If Hermione went to Slytherin, she might lose these qualities, and might become even more selfish and cold. In addition, in the magical world of Harry Potter, the selection of schools was not random, but based on the student's personality and talent. If Hermione were to transfer to Slytherin, it might mean that her character and talents were more compatible with Slytherin House, but it might also limit her development and growth. Therefore, it was a wise decision for Hermione to stay in Gryffindor House, which allowed her to maintain her character and values, and to show extraordinary courage and leadership throughout the series. Harry chose Slytherin
In the original Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter did not choose Slytherin House, but was assigned to Gryffindor House by the Sorting Hat. However, if Harry chose Slytherin, it would be a very interesting and subversive situation. Judging from the characteristics of Slytherin House, Slytherin students were often ambitious, shrewd, cunning, and had strong leadership skills. Had Harry chosen Slytherin, his courage might have taken a different form. He might be able to use Slytherin's shrewdness and leadership qualities to change some of Slytherin's prejudices internally, such as the discrimination against Muggle-born wizards. In the original novel, there were many contradictions between Slytherin and Gryffindor. After choosing Slytherin, Harry might face confusion and confusion from his Gryffindor friends. He needed to rebuild trust and friendship in the new network of interpersonal relationships. At the same time, Slytherin's close connection with the Dark Arts might also bring more challenges to Harry. He needed to resist the temptation of the Dark Arts with his strong beliefs, unlike Gryffindor, who stood on a clear stand against the Dark Arts from the beginning. Harry's choice of Slytherin would bring a completely different story to his journey into the Wizarding world. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was not enough. When Harry was in Slytherin
In the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter was put into Gryffindor House, not Slytherin House. However, if Harry were to be put in Slytherin, it would change the whole story dramatically. Slytherin House was known for its shrewdness, cunning, ambition, and strong leadership, and was closely associated with the Dark Arts. If Harry were to enter Slytherin, he might be confronted with a clash of ideas from within the House. This was because Harry had Gryffindor qualities such as bravery and justice, which were different from the traditional values of Slytherin. He might have to work hard to balance his values in Slytherin House, but he might also face challenges in terms of relationships with fellow students, such as Malfoy, who had strong pure-blood values. In the process of fighting Voldemort, Harry had received the support and help of many Gryffindor students and teachers in Gryffindor House. If he was in Slytherin, he might need to find allies among the members of Slytherin, which might include complicated characters like Snape. Moreover, Slytherin's secrets and traditions may provide different resources or obstacles for Harry to fight against Voldemort. Elements such as the secrets of the Chamber of Secrets and the identity of Slytherin's heir will be redefined in the story. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was not enough.
