In online literature, a formal contract meant that the author had reached a cooperation agreement with the website or other publishing institutions, transferring the copyright of his work to the other party, and obtaining the corresponding remuneration and rights protection. Specifically, when an author's work gained a certain amount of popularity and attention on the website, the website would communicate with the author and propose the intention to sign a contract. If the author agreed, both parties would further negotiate the specific terms and conditions of the contract, including the scope of copyright transfer, the distribution of remuneration, the promotion and publicity of the work, and so on. Before signing the contract, the author had to read the terms of the contract carefully to understand their rights and obligations and ensure that the content of the contract was legal, fair, and reasonable. After signing the contract, the author had to complete the creation and update of the work according to the requirements of the contract, and actively cooperate with the promotion and publicity of the website to increase the popularity and influence of the work. If the novel was signed, there would be different contract signing methods and subsequent income methods. There were three main types of contract signing: split, guaranteed, and outright. Under the sharing model, for example, on Feilu website, after the word count reached 120,000, they could apply to publish. After that, they would publish paid chapters. The author's share of income would come from the readers 'purchases of the paid chapters. Usually, the website platform would split the income 50/50. This was a more mainstream and profitable model. The guaranteed price model was that the website would judge the selling point of the article based on the first 30,000 or 20,000 words of the article, and give a price of 1,000 words. The more words written, the more money earned. If the later part of the profit exceeded the guaranteed price, the excess would be calculated as 55%. The outright mode was for the website to give a price and buy out all the copyrights of the work. The author only had the right to be famous. In terms of income, different platforms have different rules. For example, some platforms have a full attendance award: Ordinary full attendance requires signing a contract. Starting from the next month with 100,000 words, the monthly listening and reading share is not less than 200 yuan and the daily update is more than 4000 words. You can get 600 yuan + monthly listening and reading income * 5%(Maximum of 1500 yuan/month); Advanced Full-Attendance requires signing a contract. Starting from the next month with 100,000 words, the monthly listening and reading income will be no less than 200 yuan and the daily update of more than 6000 words will receive 800 yuan + the monthly listening and reading income * 5%(Maximum of 2000 yuan/month). There was also the reward income, which was usually 70% of the author's gift income after deducting the channel fee. Read more exciting novels for free
