In the story of Bajie eating watermelon in Journey to the West told by Mao Xiaoshuai, when Tang Sanzang and his disciples passed through the wilderness, Bajie and Wukong went out to look for fruits. Wukong couldn't stand Bajie's nagging and flew away. When Ba Jie saw a watermelon, he had planned to share it with his master, eldest senior brother, and third junior brother. However, he was too thirsty and ended up eating all the watermelon himself. Sun Wukong turned into a bug and followed along, witnessing the entire process. After that, Sun Wukong revealed his true body and pretended not to know. When he was walking with Bajie, he deliberately used a spell to make Watermelon Skin follow Bajie, causing Bajie to slip and fall several times. The ending of the story was that Bajie realized his mistake and promised not to steal food alone in the future. He wanted to share good things with everyone and not lie. Read more exciting novels for free
