I didn’t ask for this summer to change me but it did. I came here thinking I could just escape for a little while. Breathe. Hide. Maybe even forget. But life, love, and the messiness in between had other plans. Between the late-night confessions, the unexpected moments, and the way they looked at me like I was something worth saving, everything shifted. I was supposed to be guarded, composed, in control, perfect. But somehow, I found myself caught between the ghosts of what I left behind and the fire of something I never saw coming. Each moment here, every stolen glance, every mistake, every touch I shouldn’t have wanted, pulled me deeper into something real. Something terrifying. Something beautiful. This isn’t just a love story. It’s my story. A story about heartbreak, desire, family secrets, and choosing yourself even when everything around you says not to. So if you’re wondering how I got here… just know, it started with a crack in my armor and ended with me finding the one thing I never expected to lose. Myself.

I cupped his face in my hands and looked him in the eye, those midnight eyes that have held my heart for the past 6 years. "I love you" A tear rolled down my eye as I waited for his reply... Donald was a poor sap who wanted nothing more than a quiet life with his ducks. Sure he was a bit fanatical in his duck obsession but no harm no foul right? Wrong for he too was driven by revenge on his so called human 'freinds' who stole his life's work and played it off as their own casting him aside to become stars and leave him in the dust. On one fateful day he led his cherished ducks in a revolution to take back what was his and claim his revenge, sadly the guards exploited his only weakness... guns and heavy artillery as he was shot dead and his flock of angry ducks followed him to the great beyond. Marvel at his wild shenanigans on his journey to become the duck king in his second chance on life. p.s. I'm not going to do something like promise you a world that makes complete logical sense or ontime or well placed story beats. I'm not civilized enough to do something like that, and promising you something that makes sense is just my lying to you and myself. But if you can handle a few inconsistencies and just want an interesting story that's crazy hectic with all sorts of wacky shenanigans, and flying by the seem of your pants crazy. well I can do that and I think you'll love this story, just give it a shot, what could possibly go wrong besides well everything of course!

"Are you trying to act tough? ". He questioned with a crust voice. " If you are! You are really failing miserably ". He had a smirk plastered on his face. I gave him a stinging glare " N-no., why would I? ". He gave out a low chuckle " You getting mad and glaring at me feels cute". August and his journey to an unrequited love story. An overwhelming journey which is not only about loving a person but also to embrace oneself.

By the age of thirteen, August's actions lead to her arrest and confinement in a notorious prison known for its brutality. Yet, her sharp mind and unyielding spirit refuse to be caged. She orchestrates a daring escape, vanishing into the shadows. Every year, on the 11th day of August, whispers of her return spread like wildfire. August embarks on a relentless quest for vengeance, targeting those who wronged her and her family. Fu Xiaoxiao transmigrates into a book and immediately faces the crisis of being sent to the countryside. As the unloved middle child, her younger sister is the one meant to go — but her mother transfers her job to the sister instead. A disaster of a start. To avoid being sent away, she has to marry within seven days. She meets a few ordinary men and decides she'd rather go to the countryside. Then she runs into a neighbor who's also looking for a spouse — and his conditions are surprisingly good. A dowry of three hundred? Bicycles and a radio? Just take care of the kids, and separate rooms are fine? The others may pass, but she won't. Every day is a battle of wits with the two kids. Life is eventful, she gets a salary every month, and the boss is never home. Absolutely perfect. Except... wasn't this big shot supposed to be infertile? Then why does he keep strutting around naked in front of her? She has professional ethics. She won't be seduced by a good body. Hmph. Men only slow down her sword swing. Lu Feng grits his teeth at Fu Xiaoxiao, who remains completely unmoved by his countless attempts to seduce her, and traps her in his arms. "Boss, let's talk this through. I know forty a month is a bit much — how about... five less?" Trapped in his embrace, Fu Xiaoxiao thinks he's unhappy with her high salary and starts bargaining. "I'm giving myself to you for free." Lu Feng grinds out through clenched teeth. This woman has no heart. "...Can I say no?" Fu Xiaoxiao swallows, staring at the washboard abs so close. "Such a good deal — are you sure you don't want it?" Lu Feng squints, tempting her. "Fine." A fool turns down a bargain.
