Mr. CEO, The MISTRESS has beaten the in-laws AGAIN!
Even after the director yelled, “Cut!”, Mira stayed kneeling in the dirt, smiling at the little boy in front of her. His runny nose and fearless little face made her laugh.
The boy crossed his arms. “Hey, red dress! Give me your goggles. I like them.”
Mira let out a soft laugh. “But they’re mine.”
Before she could stop him, he grabbed the expensive sunglasses right out of her hands and put them on like he owned them.
“If I like something, I take it. Doesn’t matter whose it is.”
A crew member rushed over with an ice pack for the bump starting to form on Mira’s forehead, while her assistant, Macs, hurried to her side.
“Got hit pretty hard, huh?” he asked, handing her some water. “The director told the kid to toss the ball gently, but he nailed you full force. They only kept filming because you stayed so calm.”
“Oh, really?” Mira said, keeping the brief flash of annoyance out of her eyes.
The guilty director quickly apologized, but Mira just smiled.
“It was an accident. Please don’t blame the child.”
When the director said he’d fire the boy, Mira stopped him right away.
“He’s just a kid. Please don’t ruin his day.”
The crew was impressed by how kind she was and even clapped. Mira shyly asked them to stop before telling everyone to get ready for the next scene.
Once everyone had walked off, Macs lowered his voice.
“Are you actually mad?”
Mira smiled sweetly. “Not at all.”
She nodded toward the boy running around.
“Look how cute he is. I’d actually love to spend more time with him.”
Under her breath, she muttered, “A very special chat.”
Macs caught the dangerous glint hiding behind her smile but didn’t say anything.
Just then, the boy’s excited mother hurried over.
“I’m your biggest fan! Marry me!”
Mira blinked.
“My name is Marry,” the woman quickly corrected, laughing awkwardly before proudly talking about her son’s football skills instead of apologizing.
Mira politely praised the boy and knelt beside him.
“I’ll never marry you,” James declared.
“Oh? Why not?” Mira asked, amused.
“Because your nose is flat.”
For a second, Mira’s smile almost slipped.
Instead, she leaned in a little closer.
“If you like these goggles so much, I’ve got a bunch more in my room. Want to see them?”
James’ eyes lit up.
“Really? Mom, can I go?”
Macs jumped in right away.
“Mira, you don’t have time. Your next scene starts soon, and you’re hurt.”
“I’m fine,” Mira said firmly. “I like spending time with kids.”
Turning to Marry, she asked sweetly, “Can I take James for a quick walk?”
“Of course!” Marry said with a bright smile.
Mira paused, still smiling.
“Actually... just James.”
Though a little disappointed, Marry agreed, mentioning she was heading off to drink her daily orange juice.
“You definitely should,” Mira replied politely, the faint sarcasm slipping past everyone except Macs.
Mira looked down at the grinning boy.
“Well then, James... shall we?”
“Yes!” James cheered, grabbing her hand.
“But hurry! I want to see all those cool goggles!”
.
.
.
Ten minutes later....
“Mummy, mummy, mummy!”
The child’s cries rang through everyone’s ears.
Mira calmly cleaned one ear with her free hand while the other held the boy by one leg, dangling him upside down without the slightest change in her expression.
She looked at him and said in a nonchalant tone, “Didn’t you just say you take whatever you like? Come on, take my glasses again. Come.”
“Please, auntie, let me go! Mama, tell me, I will never do it again!” the boy sobbed.
Mira’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Huh? You still dare call me auntie?”
She lowered him even more.
“No, no, my lady! Please, please, please let me go!”
To everyone in the entertainment industry, Mira was the most humble actress around, a woman from a powerful family whom no one dared to offend.
But behind that gentle smile was a hidden identity no one, not even her fans, knew.
If they ever found out, the whole world would stop.
By day, she was Mira, the beloved actress.
