the kingdom beneath the sigil
Long time ago, three demigods known as the Protectors saved the kingdom of Avalon by binding themselves to a curse of endless rebirth, returning again and again in mortal form so their power would not destroy the world. Their greatest enemy, Aegis the Destroyer, was shattered in a final act of sacrifice but while his body was destroyed, his soul endured, waiting beyond time for a way back.
When a violent omen tears through the capital at dawn, the priests declare a prophecy fulfilled a child has been born for whom the world will bend. The kingdom searches in fear, finding nothing never realizing the truth lies within the palace itself.
Queen Elowen gives birth to twin sons.
One is presented to the world as the sole heir to Avalon Prince Alaric, raised in sunlight, praised for his brilliance, and shaped to rule. The other, marked by an ancient sigil and bound to a dangerous power, is hidden beneath the palace and raised in secrecy by a loyal servant. His name is Cael.
As the brothers grow, their lives diverge. Alaric learns the language of power, control, and command discovering a hunger for authority that unsettles the queen and echoes forgotten prophecies. Cael, hidden in shadow, begins to feel the world respond to him stone shifting at his touch, silence bending to his will.
Unseen by the kingdom, the curse stirs once more.
