Then, a brutal accident left him with a shattered knee and a permanent limp, destroying his dreams in an instant. By twenty-two, his life has narrowed down to a grueling survival script: working in a dusty bat factory for sixteen thousand rupees a month, trying to raise his fifteen-year-old sister after their father’s sudden passing, and carrying the bitter sting of a girlfriend who left him because he couldn't provide.
On the night of July 10, 2019, as India crashes out of the World Cup Semifinal, Vishal’s own life hits rock bottom. Filled with the regret of how his life was squandered away, he stumbles out of the gates into the humid Delhi night,, only to be struck down by a speeding car. As he lies bleeding on the asphalt, terrified of leaving his sister entirely alone, the universe answers his desperate will to survive.
