carbon cycle short story
What are the key elements in a carbon cycle short story?
Plants are a key element. They take in carbon dioxide and start the cycle. Another is animals. For example, herbivores eat plants and release carbon dioxide when they breathe. Also, decomposition is important. When plants and animals die, their remains decompose, releasing carbon back into the cycle.

Can you tell a carbon cycle short story?
The carbon cycle short story could be like this. There was a beautiful ocean. Phytoplankton in the ocean absorbed carbon dioxide from the water. Small fish ate the phytoplankton. Larger fish ate the small fish. When these fish died, their bodies sank to the ocean floor. Over time, they got compressed and formed sedimentary rocks. Geological processes then brought some of these rocks to the surface, where they were weathered and the carbon was released back into the atmosphere or water, thus completing a cycle of the carbon movement.

The difference between plant carbon cycle and microorganisms carbon cycle
The plant carbon cycle mainly involved plants absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis, converting it into glucose and releasing oxygen with the participation of water. Then, organisms used glucose to synthesize other organic compounds. These organic compounds were transmitted through the food chain, and part of the biochemistry in the body was oxided into carbon dioxide and water through the process of breathing, releasing energy.
During the carbon cycle of microorganisms, microorganisms participated in the carbon cycle in many ways. For example, microorganisms could decompose organic compounds (including dead organisms and other carbon-containing substances), which would release carbon dioxide into the environment. Some microorganisms could fix carbon dioxide in specific environments and convert it into organic carbon in their own cell materials. The carbon cycle of microorganisms was more related to the decomposition and transformation of organic carbon, the microscopic process of material circulation and energy conversion in the ecosystem, while the carbon cycle of plants was more related to the carbon cycle between the atmosphere, itself and the food chain. At the same time, when microorganisms participated in the carbon cycle, they were more closely related to the carbon cycle of the local environment such as soil and water. Plants mainly had a more significant carbon cycle in the atmosphere-plant-food chain system.

Microorganisms participate in the carbon cycle
The main processes for microorganisms to participate in the carbon cycle were as follows:
- In the biological soil crust ecosystem, the researchers found that the gene abundance related to light-driven carbon stabilization was low, while the gene abundance related to chemical energy-driven decomposition of organic carbon (Ox), fermentation, respiratory rate, and carbon dioxide was high. During the decomposition of organic carbon, the genes that mediate the decomposition of starch, glycogen, and Cellulose are more abundant in the initial complex decomposition process of the organic carbon. In the final step of the decomposition of the organic carbon, the genes that mediate the fermentation are also the same. Moreover, in the continuous process, the immobilized carbon, fermentation, CH4, and the decomposition of starch/glycogen and peptidoglycan would decrease, while some high-efficiency processes, as well as the decomposition of CO2 and most types of OCs, would increase. The carbon cycle in the biological crust consisted of an assimilation module (similar to primary production) and a dissimilation module (similar to secondary production). The two were connected through the Calvin Benson Bassam cycle, the fermentation of alcohol and proprionic acid, and they were balanced by drought and saltiness.
- Soil microorganisms decompose the organic matter in the soil to promote nutrient circulation and affect carbon storage and release. After animals and plants died, the carbon in their remains would be decomposed by microorganisms into carbon dioxide and eventually discharged into the atmosphere.
- A higher soil microbiotic carbon use efficiency reflected the high efficiency of microorganisms in converting litter or root deposits into microorganisms, which was conducive to increasing the potential of soil carbon storage. A lower carbon use efficiency meant that a large amount of carbon was released into the atmosphere through the respiratory action of microorganisms, which may reduce soil carbon storage. In the context of increasing global man-made nitrogen input, the increase in soil nitrogen content may change the efficiency of carbon utilization by microorganisms and thus affect the global carbon cycle.

What are the key elements of a carbon cycle cartoon?
The main elements in a carbon cycle cartoon are typically the various stages of carbon movement. This could be from carbon being taken in by plants through photosynthesis to its release by respiration or combustion. It might also show how carbon is stored in the Earth over long periods of time.

The carbon cycle is between living things and the environment
Based on context alone
The carbon cycle was a complex and continuous process between organisms and the environment.
Between living things and the environment, carbon mainly existed in the atmosphere in the form of carbon dioxide. Plants fix carbon dioxide in the atmosphere through photosynthesis and convert it into organic carbon compounds. This process allows carbon to enter the biological community from the organic environment. The organic carbon synthesized by plants would be transferred between organisms along the food chain. For example, herbivores obtained carbon by eating plants, and carnivores obtained carbon by preying on herbivores.
The breathing of living things decomposed organic carbon and released carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere. This was an important way for carbon to return from the biological community to the organic environment. In addition, when organisms die, the decompose (such as bacteria and fungi) will decompose their remains and excrement, converting the organic carbon into carbon dioxide and releasing it back to the environment, or forming carbon-containing substances such as humus temporarily stored in the soil. These carbon-containing substances will also be decomposed under certain conditions, releasing carbon dioxide again.
In some special ecological systems, such as grasslands, carbon would be released into the atmosphere in the form of methane, but the methane would eventually be oxided to carbon dioxide. In short, the carbon cycle between organisms and the environment maintained the dynamic balance of carbon on Earth, which was of vital significance to the stability of the Earth's climate and ecosystem.
