Pokemon Alternate Universe Adventures

Pokemon Alternate Universe Adventures

A man from an Earth gets the choice to start over in any Universe and chooses an Alternate Pokemon Universe. Let us see if his journey to the top is succesful and the impact he will have on his new world. Pokemon is owned by Nintendo, Game Freak and Creatures Inc. I just use their sandbox for the plot of my MC and my OCs. This will be a "slow" paced story, in fact it's "super slow paced", so please don't expect the MC to directly start his journey in 20 chapters or so, actually multiply that by like 15. A lot is going to happen before that happens. The first 10-20 chapters or so are information heavy, depending on what kind of reader you are. I try to keep my chapter length between 2000 and 3000 words per chapter. My release rate is 4 chapter/week for now. I have a patre*n for those that want to support me with access to some advance chapters as a thank you. patre*n.com/Azrail93 This is an alternate pokemon universe so there will be differences to the games, manga and anime. So if something in the story is different it is most likely on purpose. The original sources are seen as suggestions not laws. Differences can be: Type variants, evolution conditions, strength mechanics, world building and more. If I am at some point asking for reader input I will do so but otherwise I will ignore most suggestions. So please don't spam things like catch this pokemon or do that next. I have my plot planned and external input will be considered when asked for. If I see a suggestion that I believe fit my plot flow I will use it and will credit the commentor. Comments on spelling and grammar mistakes are welcome. I will try to correct said mistakes with time. Constructive criticism will be read and considered. Insult and hate comments will be ignored or deleted depending on severity. Readers naturally can comment their dislike but one worders will be ignored. If the reason for the dislike is explained I will read it. Like previously mentioned pure insults and hate comments will be ignored or deleted. The same is true for simple hate reviews or insulting ones. Reviews complaining about something I warned about, such as the slow pace, will be deleted as well.

What are the problems with overused pokemon fanfic?
One problem is the lack of originality. Since they are overused, the plots tend to be very similar. For example, the story of a trainer starting with a Pikachu and going on a journey to become a champion is so common that it becomes boring. Another issue is that it may limit the creativity of new fanfic writers. They might feel pressured to follow the same overused patterns instead of exploring new ideas.

Are dragons overused in fiction?
In my opinion, dragons have become overly common in fiction. They seem to pop up everywhere, and it makes them less special. Maybe authors should look for more unique creatures to add novelty to their works.

What kind of story is overused in fantasy?
The story of a young hero with unknown powers discovering their true potential and going on to defeat a long-standing enemy is overly familiar in the fantasy genre. It's been done in so many variations that it's hard to make it stand out anymore.

Why are certain names overused in fiction?
Another reason is that certain names carry connotations that are useful for different genres. For instance, the name Sophia is often associated with elegance and intelligence, so it might be overused in romance or mystery novels where such qualities are desired in a character. And in science fiction, names like Alex or Nova are sometimes overused as they can sound modern and futuristic, fitting the genre's aesthetic.

What are the characteristics of overused names in fiction?
Overused names in fiction often follow trends. In a lot of young adult novels, names like 'Jacob' and 'Bella' were overused for a while. This can happen because of the popularity of certain books or movies. When a story with a character named 'Ella' becomes really popular, other authors might unconsciously use the same name, thinking it has a certain charm that worked well in that successful story.

What are some overused words in novels?
Words like 'nice', 'good' and 'bad' are frequently overused in novels. They are rather general and don't convey a very specific meaning. A better choice could be more descriptive words such as 'exquisite' instead of 'nice', 'admirable' instead of 'good', and 'terrible' or 'dreadful' instead of 'bad'.

What are some overused settings for horror stories?
One overused setting is the abandoned asylum. It has been used so much that when people think of horror, they immediately picture the long, dark corridors filled with rusty beds and strange medical equipment. Another is the old, haunted house on the hill, often with creaky floorboards and hidden rooms. The dark forest at night is also common, where strange noises come from the bushes and the trees seem to have a life of their own.

What are some overused tropes in science fiction?
One overused trope is the 'chosen one' narrative. There's always a character who is destined to save the world or galaxy. Another is the post - apocalyptic setting, with desolate landscapes and survivors fighting for resources. And time travel paradoxes are also very common, like going back in time and changing something that then has unforeseen consequences on the present.
