Semenjak perceraian kedua orangtuanya, Aneska tinggal bersama kakak kandung dan kakak iparnya. Keadaan bukannya membaik, justru kehidupan Aneska semakin menderita. How can alone historical fiction help us understand history better?
Alone historical fiction can give us a more vivid picture of history. By creating fictional characters in historical settings, we can see how people might have lived, felt and reacted during those times. For example, in a historical fiction set during the Industrial Revolution, we can understand the working conditions through the eyes of the fictional workers.

What are the characteristics of stand alone historical romance novels?
Characteristics of stand alone historical romance novels include a vivid historical backdrop. This can range from the political climate to the daily life of the people in that era. The love stories are usually complex and full of obstacles. In historical romances like 'Romeo and Juliet' (although it's a play, it has the elements), the feud between the families is an obstacle to their love. Also, the hero and heroine often have to grow and change throughout the story. They may start with certain prejudices or beliefs based on the historical context, but as the story progresses, they learn and adapt, which is an important part of their relationship development.

What are the best stand alone fiction books?
I think 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho is an excellent stand - alone fiction book. It follows the journey of a shepherd boy in search of his personal legend, and it's full of inspiring messages. 'The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger is also very good. It tells the story of Holden Caulfield, a disillusioned teenager, in a very relatable way. And 'Life of Pi' by Yann Martel is a captivating read. The story of Pi's survival on a lifeboat with a tiger is both thrilling and thought - provoking.
