The Tempest Empire

The Tempest Empire

He thought he knew it all. He thought he knew all about himself, knew how to control himself and what he wanted until this strange woman came crawling into his life, throwing questions he couldn't give answers to. And he wanted to protect her from his father, his dark world, scared she'd get lost in it but Saeria was just an ordinary girl...at least she thought she was until she stepped into the world she never knew was created by her, discovering abilities that that overwhelmed her....secrets that could tear the whole world apart, secrets that could tear them apart.... ——EXCERPT—— . "Why did you take the picture down?" Saeria asked, moving away from him. "I want to replace it. I don't really like people lecherously gawking at what's mine". He took a step closer, his eyes swimming up and down her naked body covered with a little piece of clothing. She was supposed to be used to his impromptu barging by now. "Okay but can we talk later? I want to..." She drew her finger round on her body, demonstrating what she wanted to do. He smirked, picking an apple from the table close to him and tossing it up in the air to catch it in his hand. "I think I'd love to talk now". Saeria swallowed, unsettled by his piercing and intimidating gaze that she was never going to be used to. Before she blinked twice, he had moved the table beside him to stand behind her, preventing her from moving away. He closed up the space between them with a single stride. "Why do you always try to escape from me when you're fully aware that I have you in the palm of my hand?" He whispered huskily behind her ear, caging her with his arms on each sides of her body. "You know I don't like it when you tease me". He bit her earlobe, earning a sharp moan from her. He trailed slow kisses down her neck to her shoulder while Saeria struggled to keep her balance and the piece of clothing close to her chest. She knew when he wanted something and right now, he was just playing with her. He was only showing her how she made him feel each time she toyed with him. Besides, he had a planned meeting that morning and she doubted he was going to forsake that for pleas— "Turn around". She swallowed. "What?" Not having it in him to chat, he spun her around, her clothes dropping as he bent her over the table. He was really not joking around? . *Book cover not mine* Credit belongs to the rightful owner~ *Tyforcheckingin*

Emp and survival in books of fiction
Well, if 'emp' stands for something like electromagnetic pulse in a fictional book context related to survival, it could make for a very interesting plot. Imagine a world where an electromagnetic pulse has wiped out most of the technology, and the characters in the fiction have to rely on basic survival skills. In books, this can be depicted in different ways. Some might focus on the immediate chaos and how people loot and fight for resources, while others could show the long - term rebuilding of society from a survival perspective.
