I climb to the high ground and cast my gaze outward. Broken walls, shattered ramparts, desolation across the earth. Countless brothers-in-arms lie strewn upon the field of battle. "Where now rest the souls of the fallen heroes? Never did they fail the Imperium." How vast are the sufferings of mankind! How many are the fires of war that burn for mankind! How numberless are the enemies of mankind! The Emperor knew long ago, humanity has a greater need of warriors than any xenos race. We were chosen. We were forged. We were tempered. We were tried.
