The Last Centurion of Britannia
In 410 AD, the Western Roman Empire abandons Britain. With a single decree from Emperor Honorius, the provinces are left to defend themselves, as no legions remain, no aid will come, and no future is promised.
From the north, fierce tribes descend in waves of bloodshed, while raiders from the eastern seas arrive to claim what Rome has forsaken. Cities crumble, alliances shatter, and Britain sinks into an age of endless war.
Amid the collapse stands Hortentius Rustius, a Roman centurion who does not belong to this time. Stranded in a dying province, he refuses to accept Rome’s retreat, believing that Rome still lives through discipline, conquest, and iron will.
While others struggle to survive, Hortentius begins to rebuild, turning ruins into industry, melting relics into coin, and forging scattered survivors into a disciplined army. With fire and steel, he lays the foundation for a new power rising from the ashes.
Phalanxes march once more, heavy infantry advances in formation, cavalry charges across broken fields, and crossbows darken the sky. What begins as defiance soon becomes conquest.
If Rome has abandoned Britain, then he will become Rome.
And in a land drowned in blood and ambition, beneath the weight of war and victory, he is no longer just a centurion—he is crowned King Arthur.
