THE KARMA ARBITRAGE
Cosmic Ledger out of balance. Short the gods. In the neon and hyper-corporate jungle of Sector 4, cash is a relic.
Your worth is measured by the Universe System in terms of Karma.
Unfortunately, for most people, your cosmic standing is whatever the hyper-rich manage to offload on you; for a few, wealth, immorality, and even a few generations of artificially-produced miracles grant them near-immortality while the common folk live lives of utter misfortune. There is no better and more painful evidence of this than Leo, a data analyst drowning in debt and about to lose everything. When his vision violently and irrevocably glitches, he doesn't become a hero. He awakens the neglected interface for a near-forgotten System Class: the Auditor.
Now, he can see the ledger, the dark clouds of Abyssal Negative Karma hanging over every corrupt and guilty entity in the city.
But Negative Karma isn't always a sentence; for some, if they survive the chaotic, probabilistic penalties, it becomes a powerful means of transmuting cosmic debt into reality-bending power. Using a glitchy UI, a sharp mind, and a tolerance for hell, Leo is going to buy up cheap bad karma, pay the price, and use the profit to climb the cosmic food chain.
