Never Nia
Nia Vale is a quiet, observant high school student in who has perfected the art of not being noticed. In classrooms, hallways, and at home, she exists on the margins; present but rarely acknowledged, heard but seldom truly seen. Over time, she learns to accept her invisibility as normal, shaping her life around silence, routine, and emotional distance.
But something begins to shift!
Small inconsistencies start appearing in her everyday life: moments where her name is called but no one is speaking to her, situations where she is overlooked entirely in ways that feel unnatural rather than accidental. At home, her family’s responses grow increasingly controlled and uneasy, as though they are managing a truth she has never been allowed to question.
As Nia moves between school, home, public transport, and her secret photography lessons in the city, she becomes more aware of patterns that do not align with the life she believes she is living. Her lens captures more than images;it begins to reveal distortions in reality itself, things that do not appear when directly observed.
What starts as emotional isolation slowly transforms into psychological uncertainty. Nia begins to question not only how others see her, but whether she is truly being seen at all.
Beneath the surface of her quiet life lies something buried, an identity she was never told about, and a past carefully hidden from her understanding. As fragments of truth begin to surface, Nia is forced to confront the possibility that her entire existence may be built on absence, silence, and something deliberately erased.
In a world where she has mastered being invisible, Nia must now face a terrifying question:
What if she was never meant to be Nia at all?
