Eaglefire [English]
“Look, Detective, I know you and the members of the police department want to do things your way, but you're going to need someone who can exterminate them without worry,” Raphael said in a serious tone, his gaze fixed on Inspector Herbente's eyes.
Herbente remained silent for a moment, assessing his interlocutor. He didn't like to admit that a civilian might be right about the situation, but the facts spoke for themselves: ever since the famous flaming eagle bracelet had been discovered by the National Institute of Archeology, Wickbrook, once quiet, had become the scene of brutal murders. The victims? Pedestrians, shopkeepers, children... All seemed unconnected, except for strange lesions left on their bodies.
"This is madness, Raphael. We're talking about...inhuman beings. Monsters, straight out of a nightmare," Herbente murmured, struggling to hide his anxiety. “The whole town is terrified.”
Raphael gave a mysterious smile. "Exactly. That's why we need someone different. Someone...like Eaglefire." The name echoed through the room like a clap of thunder. Formerly a simple archaeological translator, Raphaël had made a radical decision the day he put on the bracelet. What was just a rumor of inhuman power had turned out to be very real.
With the powers of the artifact, he was no longer just Raphael. He was Eaglefire, a hero ready to defend Wickbrook. He knew his role was only just beginning and the worst was yet to come, but fear was no longer part of his vocabulary.
"Herbente, I'm not here to play hero. I'm here to destroy every last creature. And believe me, with this bracelet, I can."
