Blond
Blønd Pierce was born a nobody in a world of conduits: fighters born with the ability to draw supernatural power from their family heirlooms to combat revenants—the blood thirsty byproducts of death.
While others either lived as conduits or simply admired them from afar, Pierce's grandfather's mediocre death and funeral sparked an insatiable thirst for undeniable greatness. A feat he only envisions possible by becoming a conduit and joining the civil army.
However, he faces a problem. Only blood relatives of an heirloom-bearing family can become conduits.
Despite this, he subjects himself to a futile and perpetual cycle of research, rejection, and retrial, struggling to become great.
But a ray of hope presents itself when one night, at the end of his rope, Pierce runs into a dying old man from a family older than the nation itself. A lone survivor of a string of assassinations that eradicated his family.
Fearing the heirloom's capture, he leaves the heirloom with Pierce—a kid untraceable to anyone of importance—before he succumbs to the wound from his pursuers.
In the chaos that follows, the old man becomes a rampaging revenant, and Pierce is bound to the heirloom, granting him a hidden, forgotten, but powerful ability even amongst conduits, letting him control anything in any direction... So long as he has the anima for it.
What follows is a series of city flattening battles, mysteries surrounding the assassination, and twists that result in death. All of which, Pierce and his heirloom stand in the middle of.
But greatness comes in many flavours: heroism, conquest... and carnage!
